We held our very first Takeaway Club this evening, and the winner of the vote was Chinese food! 🥡 Residents tucked into a delicious meal together with a drink in hand, enjoying good food, conversation and plenty of smiles. A lovely way to spend the evening!

A group of our gents enjoyed a trip out to the Steam Museum today! 🚂 Lots of stories and memories were shared together as we walked around the museum. Some of our gentlemen even used to work there, so it was amazing to hear their first-hand experiences alongside learning more about the history of Swindon! We ended last week with a party at our Orchid Disco! 🎶🪩

Residents had so much fun learning dances like the Macarena and Oops Upside Your Head, before showing off their own favourite moves and teaching us a few new steps too 💃✨ They also enjoyed the disco treats they had made Friday morning! 🧁

Yesterday we celebrated Indian Day here at Orchid 🇮🇳 Our amazing Indian staff organised a wonderful afternoon filled with colour, music and joy.

✨ We were honoured by a visit from Maveli
✨ Several staff members performed traditional dances, and even our managers and activities team learnt a routine to join in 🎶
✨ Beautiful saris and traditional outfits made the day even more special
✨ Some fabulous games with prizes including pass the ball

Our residents absolutely loved the celebrations. A heartfelt thank you to our incredible Indian staff for sharing their culture with us, to everyone who helped bring the day to life, and to our families for joining us 💖

We had a wonderfully festive afternoon with our Executive Chef, Dale, who kindly hosted a Christmas cake baking demonstration 🎄🍰. Dale showed our residents step by step how to make a traditional Christmas cake, and they followed along brilliantly.

A big thank you to Dale for giving up his time; our residents had an amazing afternoon and can’t wait to enjoy their creations. (And yes, we know it’s only September… but the Christmas planning has officially begun! 🎅🏼✨)
