𝗘𝗫𝗖𝗘𝗣𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗧 - 𝗖𝗪𝗦 𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗟

𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 against the Children's Wellbeing Schools bill as MPs return back into parliament after Summer recess.

The Stop the Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill page, with help from some amazing collaborators, have put together a template letter to explain key concerns with the Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill to MPs.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻 planned for 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, schedule yours asap.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲?

Even if some MP's do not listen, they do count, so if they (or their aides) open an inbox full of constituents bringing the 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹 to their attention on the same date that The House of Lords are also discussing it - then it should at least get them noticing.

𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗗 organisations have achieved great impact with similar action, as a community I think this is an easy enough task for us to be able do the same.

I often hear and understand writing letters to MPs and Lords can feel really overwhelming but all you have to do here is add a few details so 𝗜 𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘅

🐦 A Note About My Grandad

You may occasionally see my lovely grandad in the garden – some of you have already had the pleasure of meeting him! He races pigeons and may sometimes be feeding them or waiting for them to return from a race. He’s very friendly and passionate about his birds, so feel free to say hello if you spot him.

Collaging isn’t just cutting and sticking – it’s a beautiful, creative way for children to explore their thoughts, feelings, and ideas without the pressure of “getting it right.”

Why collaging helps:

Freedom to express – There’s no “wrong” way to collage, which helps reduce anxiety and boosts self-confidence.

Mindfulness in action – Choosing colours, textures, and images encourages children to slow down and focus on the present moment.

Processing feelings – Images can help children express emotions they might not yet have words for.

Problem solving & creativity – Finding ways to fit pieces together sparks imagination and flexible thinking.

Whether they’re cutting from magazines, using old artwork, or layering textured papers, collaging can be a safe space for self-expression and emotional release.

I often use collage in sessions with children to help them relax, feel heard, and discover new ways to express themselves.

Sometimes the smallest scraps can help create the biggest sense of peace 💛

Training in Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) today, then I will make a start on going through my inbox and getting back to you all ✨

PDA is a profile that sits within the autism spectrum, and it’s often misunderstood. People with PDA experience an extreme anxiety-driven need to resist and avoid everyday demands…even ones they want to do, because those demands can feel overwhelming or threatening to their sense of control.

It’s not about being “defiant” or “naughty” – it’s about anxiety, autonomy, and safety.

You might notice:
✨ Strong need for choice and control
✨ Avoidance of requests through distraction, humour, or withdrawal
✨ Difficulty with transitions or unexpected changes
✨ Intense emotions and meltdowns when feeling pressured

At Palette of Possibilities Therapy, I understand that PDA isn’t “bad behaviour” to be fixed.
Instead, I create low-demand, flexible, and collaborative spaces where clients feel safe, respected, and in control. This can be through:

Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria (RSD) 💔
