Don’t forget to check your hat regularly and make sure it’s still a recognised standard. Stay safe peeps. Xx
If you follow BETA social media you probably already know that riding hats with PAS015:1998 and Snell 2001 standards won’t be allowed to be used under British Eventing, British Riding Clubs, Pony Clubs and Riding for Disabled rules.
This change was given notice a year ago and will come into force on 1 January 2023. 📅 A retagging exercise will start, using the new pink tag.
British Show Jumping changed its rules at the beginning of 2022 so permission to wear hats made to PAS015:1998 and Snell 2001 has already been withdrawn.
Look out for the PAS015:2011, SnellE2016 or E2021 or one of the existing hats in their rules.
It’s worth remembering this change if a riding a hat is on your Christmas shopping list or if you are planning to compete in 2023.
As much as we believe that Santa🎅🏼 wants all riders to have the best possible safety equipment BETA always recommends that hats and body protectors should be fitted.
If you want to buy these items for someone else a shopping voucher from a BETA-trained retailer might be a better idea. 🎁
