📢 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM AXEL DRAINAGE LTD 📢

We wanted to let our customers know that Axel Drainage Ltd will be closing from 18th December as I will be undergoing knee surgery.

It’s not an easy decision, but it’s necessary to make sure I recover properly and can continue providing the best service possible.

We will still be able to take calls, advise and recommend if needed!

Thank you all for your understanding, support, and patience during this time. We truly appreciate every one of our customers.

We look forward to getting back to work as soon as I have fully recovered, which maybe the 2nd or 3rd week of January. We will keep you all updated 👏

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been busy carrying out drainage repairs at a number of domestic properties — everything from clearing stubborn blockages to repairing damaged pipework and sorting out long-standing drainage issues. 💧🔧

Well, it's been a very entertaining week in the world of drain! 💩

Being on the tools myself means you never quite know what you're going to come across on jobs.. and this week has been something else! 😅

Here's our list of things pulled from drain lines this week...

- An empty bottle of coke! 🤷
- An old set of crusty drain rods! 🤢
- A toilet bowl freshener! 🤔

And a very first for me and possibly the best out of all the things I've ever found..

Called to a blocked drain over the weekend.. and look what I found at 1.5m downstream! 🤦

Whoever dropped this down the toilet must've really wanted to clean the pipes from the inside 😂

Now, we've found all sorts in drains over the years, but this one really stood out - 🤣

Not flushing wipes is one thing...
But who's sending cleaning tools on underground missions?? 💩🧹

The hand brush was wedged in nice a tight too. Took abit of effort and (some choice words) to get it out, but all clear now and flowing like it should be. 😊👍

✅ Blockage cleared!
✅ Obstruction removed!
✅ Drains back in action!
❌ Hand brushes career: officially over 🤣

3 years ago today I took the leap and left a permanent role to set up on my own.

What a 3 years it's been!!

There's been many down days, but also many days where we have been on top of the world!!

I constantly have to remind myself that all the hard work is worth it in the end for our family.

We couldn't do it without our customers, so thank you to everyone for your support!

Remember, when you support a small business, you are not paying a huge CEO salary, you are helping pay for our daughter to play American football and our son to go to a wonderful childminder.

A big thank you to Zoe Walker and Nicola Lyndon for always providing the best home from home care while me and Sami Ridgard work so hard, you are amazing!

🏈 Game Day with My Favorite Teammate 🏈

American Football: Britbowl ###VII 🏆

Took the day off and swapped phone calls and emails for stadium seats!
Nothing better than a father-daughter day full of American football, snacks, and nonstop fun.

Highlights of the day:

🍭Sugary treats for breakfast
👏 New merch costing me a fortune 😅
🏈Teaching her how this sport works
🙌High-fives after every big play
😅Her asking a million questions

And a very proud moment of the day for me was at half time they asked if the kids could come on to the field and have a go at throwing and catching the ball, my little girl steps up and smashes it !!! The team then asks me if she would come down and train with them next Sunday as they see potential in her 😍 🏈 👏

Work can wait. These moments? They can’t.

Just a dad, his girl, and a love for the game.

Today’s adventure 🙌

Full-on Poo Diving Championships 2025 🏆

Venue: One very glamorous manhole chamber.

Contestants: Just me, my face mask, my ear defenders and the mysterious “floaters” of the deep.

Some people go scuba diving in the Caribbean… I dive into drains so your loos keep flushing smoothly. 💩 🚽 😅

Moral of the story: I get dirty so you don’t have to. Call me when your pipes decide to rebel!

Today, Myself and a group of amazing people will walk for more than miles.

Our mental health group is setting out on a 60+ mile walking challenge—not just to test our legs, but to prove the strength of our minds and the power of community.

Every step is a stand against stigma. Every mile is a reminder that we are stronger than our struggles. And when the road gets tough, we’ll walk it together—because none of us are alone on this journey.
