Sadly, poor yoga has been carrying around an unjust label in the West for ages. Somehow, a 3000 year old philosophical system now has the assumption linked to it that all yogis are super flexible, can touch their toes, stand on their heads and twist them legs into a knot and can burst into a chant at any given moment!
"I couldn't do yoga I'm not flexible enough" is a common reason for avoiding yoga but in reality the practice of yoga is much deeper than this and touching your toes really isn't the goal at all!
