YinFix Unwind, tune in, and give your nervous system the reset it’s craving. Yin Yoga classes in Alpraham & Tarporley, Cheshire. Hi, I’m Donna.

DM or email donna.yinfix@gmail.com to book your space, or enquire about 1-to-1 sessions. My journey with yoga spans over 25 years, but it wasn’t until 2019 that I discovered yin yoga. Struggling with meditation, I found that the inward focus of this practice gave my wandering mind somewhere to place its attention. The guidance was simple but the effects were huge; that night, I felt an incredible buzz throughout my body, hardly sleeping at all. I now know that my nervous system was responding to the calm I had long needed. Intrigued, I sought to deepen my practice. During quiet moments, I’d tap back into my breath and search for the stillness – it became easier each time. Attending every yin class my yoga teacher offered, the jitteriness of my first experience was replaced by deep relaxation and restful sleep. In 2023, I completed a yin yoga teacher training course to find out more about its amazing benefits. Sharing my knowledge with others has been humbling and rewarding. Encouraged by my experiences and the responses of my students, I’m committed to ongoing learning and growth – not just for myself, but for everyone I teach.

We’re all different. Our bone structure, body shape, flexibility, range of motion and age all vary – and that’s something to embrace.

In Yin Yoga, we use props for support and find shapes that work for our own bodies. It may look different from the person beside you – and that’s exactly as it should be.

The “perfect” pose is simply the one that feels good in your body.

If that sounds like something you’d enjoy, you’d be very welcome to join me for Yin Yoga on a Monday or Thursday evening.

As a yoga teacher, I know we should be taking it slowly at this time of year, but it doesn’t always work that way, does it?

At the moment, I seem to have quite a few balls in the air. That’s just life, and I’m thankful for it. Still, gratitude can only take you so far when you’re feeling frazzled.

Sometimes, I pour myself a glass of wine, other times I vent my frustration on the people around me (not my favoured approach). But more and more, I’m finding a quiet space fall into my practice.

When I feel myself getting angsty, when the never-ending list drops off the page, when I notice my heart thumping, when I just can’t think anymore, I drop into the yin state: eyes closed, breath deepening, and relax. Relax. Reeelax. Weight sinking down. Letting go. Let go. Just. Let. Go. And there it is.

There’s purpose in the pause — it supports all the moving, doing, and living that follows.

In Yin Yoga, we slow down and settle into passive shapes, giving body and mind time to recharge and create space, returning clearer and more focused.

If this sounds like something you could use, you’re very welcome to join us.

Classes are held in Alpraham & Calveley Village Hall on Monday evenings

Because we’re all unique, yoga poses look different in every body. In Yin Yoga especially, it’s far more about how it feels than how it looks.

We’ll use adaptations and props to help you find each shape in a way that feels right — supporting what you’re experiencing inside.

Come exactly as you are, and step onto the mat your way.

Our next class is on Monday evening.

We all know how important a good night’s sleep is for our health and wellbeing, but it doesn’t always come easily.

Yin Yoga offers a slow, settling practice that gently invites relaxation and mindful awareness through stillness. Students often tell me, “I slept so well after class.” This may be because Yin Yoga can:

• Calm the mind
• Lower stress levels
• Release physical tension
• Support the body’s rest-and-digest response

Our Monday evening class is a gentle way to wind down, leaving you relaxed and ready for bed 💤

Yoga is not about being bendy

In yoga, we make shapes that feel good in our bodies. And because we’re all different, those shapes look different for everyone. In fact, it has very little to do with how it looks, and much more to do with how it feels — especially in Yin Yoga.

Yin is a slower, floor-based practice where we place the emphasis on gently releasing tightness. Over time, this can support greater ease, range of motion and flexibility — but flexibility is never a prerequisite.

So if you’ve ever thought you weren’t “flexible enough” for yoga, you’re very much not alone. You’re also very welcome to come along and see how it feels for yourself.

Our next class is on Monday 5th January.

Too busy to stop?

Pausing can feel counter-productive when life is hectic, but this is often when we need it most.

On Monday evenings, at Alpraham & Calveley Village Hall, we slow down for 75 minutes — time invested to recharge the batteries and create some space, returning feeling clearer and ready to move forward with more focus.

If this sounds like something you could use, I’d love to share a moment of peace with you.
Please DM me or email donna.yinfix@gmail.com.

Yoga – but not as you may know it!

Unlike more active (yang) styles of yoga, nearly all yin poses are done sitting or lying on a mat.

That way, we can relax our muscles, nourish the connective tissues, and let gravity do its work.

Curious what this feels like? Come along to our next class to find out. Group classes are held Alpraham & Calveley Village Hall on Mondays, 7:30-8:45pm (£10) Private sessions also available.
