The thing with baby elephants…

The ones in captivity are tied to a stake just strong enough to hold them back from running off into the distance.
As they get bigger and stronger you’d think a deeper more sturdy stake would be needed to stop the huge animal from escaping..

Well, in fact the stake will remain the same whether the elephant weighs 120 kgs or 5,000 kg.

This is because the elephant has been conditioned through its early experience to think that it is tied to a stake and therefore can’t go very far. It doesn’t even try anymore.

The reality is that if he only tried he could be free and his potential to live freely would be unleashed.

Humans are much the same.

We are conditioned to think we have a limit to our potential. We believe that because we’ve not achieved something already we never could. We are shown through societal norms what is acceptable and that we must do that.

What if you tried?
What if you weren’t scared of failing?
What if you became unleashed?

I can assure you your potential is limitless if you just let go of the believe that you can’t!

Do you love carbs?

I do 😋

Carbs are often branded as the enermy 😕

Fact is we NEED carbs to give us essential energy. The problem comes when we eat too many refined simple carbohydrates because they turn very quickly into sugars and are then the most quickly used energy source for our body resulting in an energy crash and a viscous cycle 🫤

Here’s a top tip for those potato and rice lovers like me 😀

If you cool your potatoes and rice after cooking even if you then reheat it, the carb content reduces by half!!

They are turned from simple carbs you find in pasta, white rice and potatoes when they are cooled in to resistant starches.

This is because they go through a process of retrogradation when they're chilled.

Retrogradation turns the carbs into “resistant starches.”
So the starches your body typically digests have turned into something your body can “resist” digesting And what’s left actually feeds your microbiome with good bacteria 🙌🏼

So if you’re looking to improve your gut health and manage your weight while still enjoying carbs, this could be a game changer!

Sometimes the best things come in small packages! 📦💥

I talk a lot about the life changing benefits of our 30 days gut health programme because I know like I know that anyone who commits to this fully immersive plan will reap the physical and mental benefits for ever!

But…Yesterday I was reminded that sometimes it only takes one small change to make a massive difference to someone’s life.
