Want to know the difference between Reflexology and Massage, take a look below ⬇️
🌿Purpose
• Reflexology focuses on stimulating specific reflex points on the feet, hands, or ears that are believed to correspond to internal organs and body systems.
• Massage therapy focuses on manipulating muscles and soft tissues to relieve tension, improve circulation, and reduce pain.
🌿Areas Worked On
• Reflexology: Primarily feet, sometimes hands or ears.
• Massage: Usually the full body (back, neck, shoulders, legs, arms), depending on the type.
🌿Technique
• Reflexology: Uses targeted thumb and finger pressure on precise points. It may feel intense in certain spots but doesn’t involve kneading muscles.
• Massage: Uses strokes, kneading, rolling, and stretching techniques to work muscles and connective tissue.
🌿Underlying Theory
• Reflexology: Based on the concept that the body is mapped onto the feet/hands/ears, and stimulating these areas influences corresponding organs.
• Massage: Based on anatomy and physiology — directly working muscles, fascia, and circulation.
🌿How It Feels
• Reflexology: You remain fully clothed (except for shoes/socks). Focus is on pressure points; some areas may feel tender.
• Massage: Often involves oils/lotions and partial un******ng (with draping). Feels like muscle manipulation and relaxation.
