The Sewing Scrub Army
This page has been set up to provide information and to enable those who are willing and able to assist us in our efforts to provide much needed scrubs to our local frontline NHS and health and community care workers.
Our project was initiated by Rebecca Viner of Inspired Curtains and Blinds in Teignmouth who enlisted the help of volunteer seamstresses in response to the the nationwide shortage in supply of scrubs. Appealing for help on her own page Rebecca received a huge level of support and also appeals from many local healthcare organisations and individuals for supplies of scrub sets.
Healthcare workers can get through more than 10 sets of scrubs per shift, especially those working in ‘covid zones’ who have to change more than usual to avoid spreading the virus.
