🌟 Join us for Safeguarding Adults Week from 17 – 21 November

This week is a reminder of the importance of coming together, both locally and nationally, to raise awareness about safeguarding. The Ann Craft Trust, a leading authority on protecting adults and young people at risk, is championing this year's theme: ‘Prevention – act before abuse.’

As the Ann Craft Trust emphasises that working in partnerships allows us to share our knowledge of safeguarding, learn from others, and ultimately create safer cultures. Together, we can build a community that prioritises safety and support for all. Want to learn more? Visit https://orlo.uk/rdioI

🔔 Unload & Uplift – Tonight at 6pm
📍 St. Andrew’s Church, Shifnal TF11 9AB
All men welcome.
Tonight’s circle is for any man who’s finding life difficult—whatever the reason.
Some struggles are obvious. Others are buried deep.
We carry pain in silence, wear masks, and tell ourselves to “just get on with it.”
But that’s the pattern we’re breaking.
Unload & Uplift is a space to step out of that pressure.
To speak freely.
To be real.
To be transformed—not by pretending everything’s fine, but by sharing what’s true.
This is not therapy. It’s not a lecture.
It’s a circle of men who get it.
Who’ve been there.
Who are still there.
So if you’re tired of carrying it alone—come.
You don’t need to explain everything.
You don’t need to be “sorted.”
You just need to show up.
Unload the weight.
Uplift your mind.
Let change begin.

In 2023, West Mercia Women’s Aid launched the Lived Experience Advisory Network (LEAN) giving survivors of domestic abuse a voice in shaping the services that support them.
One issue came up time and time again: the Family Court system. Survivors told us how retraumatising the process could be, how their voices weren’t always heard.

Together with local agencies and the judiciary, we formed a working group to change that.
Now, we’re proud to share that Worcestershire and Herefordshire Family Courts have been chosen as a national Pathfinder site, launching in November 2025. West Mercia Women’s Aid will lead on delivering specialist survivor support within this new model — also extending to Shropshire and Telford.
What began as a conversation with survivors is now driving real, lasting change.

At Midnight and over the following 24 hours, the annual rough sleeper count will commence across the Telford and Wrekin Borough.
The annual count sets out to establish a snapshot of the number people sleeping rough in a 24-hour period, across the whole of England, with our focus being on the Telford and Wrekin borough.

This is an important day for Telford based Voluntary homelessness organisations and the Local Authority to understand the numbers of people sleeping rough in our area, and how joint efforts to reduce rough sleeping are having an effect.

As a collaborative team, staff will be visiting a host of known locations across the town, engaging with people sleeping rough, perhaps already known to services, as well as those who we are yet to establish a connection with.

To ensure contact with as many individuals as possible is achieved, we are asking people within our local communities to pass on any information about people sleeping rough in their area.

If you have witnessed someone sleeping rough close to your home or seen someone bedded down / camping in your local vicinity, we would ask you to get in touch with us and share as much information as you can. We will use the information you share to search and establish contact with that individual, adding them to the count and offering support and assistance where possible.

Please help us to reach and help others.
