What is a disability hate crime?
A disability hate crime is when someone is attacked because they are disabled. This can be:
Physical harm, like being punched, pushed, touched in your private areas or not being looked after.
Verbal harm, like you or your supporters being called names or threatened in public or online.
Property harm, like when your home, your car or your things are damaged on purpose.
Blocking access, like putting bins in your way or regularly parking in a Blue Badge space on purpose.
You can call 101 to report it to the police. Only call 999 if someone’s life is in danger.
