“What’s the difference between a sports massage and a regular massage?”
That’s a question we often get asked.
In essence, a sports massage targets isolated areas of the body, specific areas of concern - where there is tightness, or there’s been an injury which is now healing.
It uses deep, targeted pressure techniques to target these specific areas.
Traditional massage is administered across the whole body, using a softer, more general pressure, for a more relaxing experience.
Sports massage is often geared towards athletes and individuals engaged in physical activities - aiming to enhance performance, prevent injuries, and promote recovery.
But many people who don’t do sports can also benefit… some occupations or activities which involve repetitive movements performed frequently, or being in one prolonged position, can also cause specific tightness which can be helped with regular sports massage.
