Our residents absolutely loved their final outing of the year at the Thornton Community Centre Wellness Café 💕

Catching up with friends, enjoying live music, singing, dancing, festive treats — and even winning a raffle prize!

These monthly wellness cafés have meant so much to our residents, giving them the chance to get out, connect, and feel part of the wider community.

Here’s to 2026 and many more shared moments in our village 🎄✨

🎄✨ Festive Fun at the Christmas Fair! ✨🎄

Renee and Joan had a wonderful time wandering around the local Christmas fair, checking out all the beautiful crafts, mingling with everyone, and soaking up the festive atmosphere.

A huge thank you to Debbie, our amazing staff member, for taking the ladies out to enjoy the fair on her day off — such incredible dedication and kindness. We appreciate you! ❤️

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas here! 🎄✨

Our residents gathered for a cosy Christmas craft session, working with everything from baubles and ivy to shimmering garlands, mistletoe, berries and snowflakes. The table was a winter wonderland of lights and greenery, and the decorations they created are absolutely beautiful.
It’s amazing what a little creativity and Christmas spirit can do! 🎄❤️

Another fabulous afternoon at our local Senior Citizens Wellness Café 🎉💃🎶

Our residents showed up and ofcourse Dazzled -
dancing, singing, mingling and filling the Village Community Centre with pure buzz .

And of course, our shining star Renee hit the stage again, giving the entertainers a run for their money 😀.

Tea, cakes, music and unforgettable moments - thank you - Thornton Community Centre.

🎃 Intergenerational Linking at Rose Cottage!

Rose Cottage welcomed a new group of Year 6 children from Thornton Primary School for our 2025–2026 Intergenerational Linking Programme.

We kicked things off with a fun-filled Halloween Party last week , giving the children and our residents the perfect chance to connect

Over the coming school terms, the children will continue visiting - building meaningful relationships with our residents.

This wonderful programme in the heart of Thornton brings generations together, promoting friendship, understanding, and wellbeing for both young and old. 🌟

This weekend we partied Rose Cottage style to celebrate our amazing Dolly hitting the big 9-0!

💕 After a challenging time with her health, seeing Dolly smiling, and celebrating with family, friends, and fellow residents was pure magic. Eukeley Henry - our favourite musician - brought the tunes, and we brought the moves! 🕺💃

Fine china teacups, dainty finger sandwiches, delicious homemade bakes, and of course — a strong Yorkshire brew to top it all off. 🫖🥪🍓

It’s a little taste of comfort, conversation, and tradition — and we absolutely love sharing it every Sunday here at Rose Cottage. 💕
