Here at First Aid Solutions we can now offer Scout First Response courses for Volunteers, it’s a blended course, that consists of a day of face to face training ( which also qualifies you for Emergency First Aid at Work )

The Scouts First Aid syllabus needs to cover:
Know and demonstrate :
The use of AED (automated external defibrillator) *
The treatment for choking *
The causes and level of unresponsiveness
The recovery / safe airway position *

Know and demonstrate (or instruct a trainer) your skill in performing :
Approach to and assessment of a scene/incident **
CPR for an adult **
CPR for a child **
Know where to seek advice and recognise what action needs to be taken when presented with one of the following traumas or injuries.
Shock
Bleeding *
Fractures and sprains *
Head injury
Dental incidents
Burns

Understand the symptoms and signs that mean you need to seek professional medical advice and know how to provide immediate first aid treatment in particular helping patient to use their own emergency medication (if appropriate) for:
Asthma
Anaphylaxis *
Heart attack
Stroke
Seizures
Diabetes
Sepsis/Meningitis
