You’ve likely heard the saying:
You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink.

We may offer support, guidance, insight -
with the purest of intentions and the clearest of hopes.

But change, growth, and readiness must be chosen.

We are responsible only for our own actions, behaviours, and responses —
not for how they land, or whether another is ready to receive them.

This is often where meaningful change begins —
not through force, but through awareness and choice.

Do your part.
Do it with integrity.
And release what was never yours to control.

Reflection isn’t always calm or neatly formed.
Sometimes it arrives through experience, through discomfort, through change.
When we slow the mind, we create space to hear what’s already there beneath the noise.
That’s often where clarity begins.

Progress doesn’t always look like progress.

Progress may not be visible.
It may be a shift in perspective.
A small change in habit.
An acceptance that a belief no longer serves you.
A quiet desire to move forwards.

Often, the greatest progress goes unseen.
We celebrate the butterfly,
admire its grace and presence,
forgetting it began as a caterpillar —
unremarkable,
often overlooked.

The transformation happens cocooned and hidden.
Until one day,
it unfolds
into a new chapter —
ready to be seen.

Change is difficult.
It can feel dangerous.
It can feel uneasy.

But it is possible.

Sometimes it is just recognising,
internally,
that something has shifted.

A belief no longer fits.
A story can be placed back on the bookshelf —
a reference, not a rhetoric.

Sometimes change
is simply the recognition
that you want it.

And then, space gradually unfolds
to allow those changes to take place.

Belief in yourself
is the only belief you need to honour.

Every day is a fresh start.
Every dawn is a new beginning.
As you breathe in the frosty air and morning light, allow your mind and body to gently reset. ❄️🤍
Even in the grey, change can begin softly.

The powerful waves of our subconscious mind
Can be our greatest ally,
Or our fiercest opponent.

What if we could quietly change the bias
Through which we view our world,

Our behaviour,
Our beliefs.
From stormy and angry,
To confident and strong.
From destructive and difficult,
To constructive, with ease.
From battle,
To resolution.

Just like this sea.
When we understand its power,
We can stand back
And view it with admiration.

The strength.
The confidence.
The ease with which it moves forward,
Without fear.

Hypnotherapy gently guides the subconscious mind
To find a safe viewpoint
From which to consider thoughts and beliefs
To learn a new language,
A new perspective,
Or simply to let go
Of what no longer serves us.

There is another way to see this.

Zippy knows she has a few joys in life that are non-negotiable.
Though, usually, there’s work to be done first.

When life feels a little heavy.
Long lists of tasks.
Never-ending to-dos.
Work that feels infinite.

Write down three of your loves, or small joys in life.
Then, amongst the work and tasks, give yourself a joy break.

Even brief moments of pleasure signal safety to the subconscious mind, allowing it to reset and refocus.

My three simple joys are:
❄️ Being outdoors / moving my body
☕ A cup of tea with a book or magazine
📞 A coffee or chat with a friend

Try interrupting your doing with a little joy.

Your mind will thank you for it.

A hoar frost.

Cold enough to wrap up — and still feel the bite.
A bite that makes your skin tingle
and your brain’s neurons come alive.

Yes, that’s right — embracing a frost can be positively game-changing.

The brain neurons involved in thermoregulation are activated, releasing neurotransmitters such as norepinephrine. This triggers protective responses, enhances synaptic plasticity, and can improve mood.

Put simply, we are wired for change.
Changes in weather.
Changes in food availability.
Changes in daylight.
Changes in our physical selves.
Embrace the changes.

Don’t fight what you cannot control.
Sometimes it’s about stripping back, stepping out, and gently retraining the nervous system to respond differently — which is where hypnotherapy can quietly support lasting change.

Momentum starts with just a sparkle of intention ✨

Ode to 2025

Tonight, as we draw the curtains
on the year that’s passed,
look skyward.

The moon reflects light
that once warmed our mornings.
The stars shine now
with light that began its journey long ago.

What we experience in the present
is often shaped by what came before —
carried quietly, sometimes for a lifetime.

Like the stars and the moon,
it’s okay to reflect the past.
And we can also choose to look forward —
opening the curtains on a new dawn,
a new year.

Hopeful.
Rich with experience.
Holding the wisdom of lessons learned,
and gently illuminating the way
towards our future selves.

This is the quiet work of the mind —
honouring where we’ve been,
while creating space for what comes next.

Wishing all my clients, past and present,
a peaceful and purposeful New Dawn in 2026.

Viewpoint.

I can’t do the crazy Christmas dashing and shopping.

But I can do
winter sunset,
viewed through a horse’s ears.

There’s an old Arabian proverb:
“The wind of heaven blows between a horse’s ears.”

It speaks to the peace, presence, and quiet joy found on horseback —
where the noise of the world softens,
and something steadier takes its place.

This is my Christmas spirit.
A little peace amongst the chaos.

What’s yours?

Closed for Christmas 🎄

As I close for the Christmas break, I want to wish all my clients, past and present, a truly restful and nourishing festive period.

I’ll be back from 5th January, ready to welcome 2026 and to support clients who feel called to make changes, set new intentions, or gently let go of what no longer serves them.

Hypnotherapy isn’t only about goals or “New Year resolutions” — it’s also about understanding yourself more deeply, releasing unhelpful patterns, and finding solutions that feel right for you.

If you’re curious about how hypnotherapy might support you in the year ahead, I’m always happy to talk through any questions in a free consultation call before booking.

Wishing you a calm and peaceful Christmas.

Hugging panda.

Have you seen the weighted hugging panda toys?
Created to offer comfort and emotional regulation.

They’re a reminder of something very human —
we all need connection.

In a world that pulls us towards screens and away from presence, our nervous system still seeks safety, touch, and belonging.

When that’s missing, we look for ways to self-soothe.

Perhaps it’s time in nature, without distractions.
Maybe it’s reaching out to an old friend.
Or finding connection in a group or shared space.

Hypnotherapy helps gently uncover what your system is craving, supporting regulation and reconnection from the inside out.

We all need connection — even Socks agrees 🐾

If you’re feeling disconnected, you’re welcome to reach out.
