CHRONIC HIP PAIN, BE GONE !

Dannelly first came to FP Brisbane in July 2024. She was suffering from excruciating hip pain that often kept her up at night and would reluctantly take painkillers to ease the discomfort. She had been diagnosed with hypermobility by an orthopaedic doctor and had been wearing orthotics for over two years.
Dannelly also experienced poor core recruitment due to abdominal separation from pregnancy. Unsurprisingly, her hip issues affected the rest of her body—causing neck stiffness and a general sense of unease when moving or performing everyday tasks, such as walking to the train station.
Her pain limited her ability to engage in activities she once enjoyed, like jogging and playing netball. Despite this, Dannelly showed an enthusiastic attitude and a strong willingness to learn from day one. She has been an absolute pleasure to train.

Progress Overview

Before: July 2024

❌ 9/10 hip pain
❌ Neck stiffness
❌ Poor core recruitment
❌ Dependent on painkillers
❌ Unable to run
❌ Reliant on orthotics

After: April 2025

✅ Zero hip pain
✅ Minimal to no neck stiffness
✅ Able to run (current top speed: 16 kph)
✅ Stronger core muscles
✅ No longer using orthotics
✅ No painkillers
✅ Improved hip stability
✅ Improved leg and arm drive
✅ Enhanced thoracic and pelvic rotation
✅ Returned to sports and is enjoying them again

After dealing for years with pain and away from sports activities due getting injured easily. I have been twice in physiotherapy. While it offered improvement, everytime I tried to go back to any physical activities just got injured again and again. Thanks to Aman, I feel stronger, there is massive improvement with the pain, reduced to a minimum. After 6 months of doing FP, I have been able to go back to exercising and undertaking sports again with great success in a sustainable and progressive way. He also helped my husband and my daughter with their posture. Highly recommended!

UNCUED RELAXED POSTURAL RESULTS

Katie is an active individual who has engaged in a variety of activities over the years, including CrossFit, Pilates, and touch football. Throughout this time, she has suffered from an extensive list of injuries, including ACL, PCL, and MCL tears in her knee.

Her primary concern has been the shoulder and neck pain she’s been dealing with for the past nine years, with the pain typically ranging from 2-3/10 and escalating to 6-7/10 when aggravated. She has bursitis in her left shoulder, with pain radiating up to her neck, and has received cortisone injections to help alleviate the pain, though these provided only short-term relief.

In addition to practicing Pilates, Katie regularly received dry needling and massages to help manage her symptoms. Katie began training with me online in April, and after eight sessions over just under three months, she has made substantial postural improvements, with visible improvements in stacking and muscle definition in her neck and shoulders.

Her pain has also been completely eliminated, currently sitting at 0/10.

The solution isn’t just to pull your shoulder blades back

Don’t get me wrong they do need to come back in some sense

But only when you create the conditions for them to do so

The shoulders cannot set on a structure that has no room for them to move

What’s that structure ?

Ribcage

If your ribs are compressed and lacking expansion they will not allow the shoulders to move freely as the shoulders follow the ribs

One of the hinderances i see with clients is the bloating in there abdomen

When you have Bloating it inhibits the recruitment of you core muscles which you use to stabilise your spine/lower back

When we have this artificial balloon our hips can shift forward and compress our lower backs as we stand due to the lack of support from the Deep core muscle TVA (transverse abdominis)

As you see the hips shift forward you'll also see the ribs compress downwards on top of the pelvis giving little room for movement

In most cases the type of food we eat can cause inflammation
namely, wheat, seed oils, beans and legumes

So alongside the process i ask clients to limit these foods as much as possible and eat mostly clean 70 /30

Does breathing affect your posture, or does posture affect your breathing? At FP, we tend to focus on the latter.

While many people concentrate on breathwork, they often overlook addressing the underlying structures required for efficient breathing.

Each breath you take generates pressure in your abdominal cavity, activating muscles such as your TVA and multifidus to stabilise your spine.

When you are posturally misaligned, the proper buildup of pressure does not occur, and instead, it starts to travel in directions that reinforce the compensations you possess—such as a rounded upper back or a compressed lower back.

For instance, if you have a rounded upper back, you'll frequently experience discomfort in that area.

This is because your diaphragm becomes stuck and compressed, leading to the concentration of pressure there each time you breathe.

This fundamental concept constitutes a core aspect of our teachings and serves as one of the pillars for achieving a more aligned posture and experiencing pain-free movement.
