"My work is intended to create tension in the spaces of our lives where we feel isolated...These feelings, often fleeting, are met in my work with bursts of color and harmonious moments of disruption. My work is aimed at creating those intersections and letting the viewer navigate this liminal space."

'Untitled' by Anish Kapoor is a ‘real sculpture’, a shape liberated from a piece of rock. You can see the rough, unfinished exterior, but also the oval interior, containing a perfect egg shape. Because you also cannot see if the egg shape is touching the hollowed-out space, it appears to be floating. Even though the stone weighs quite a lot. How heavy do you think the stone is?

The print, Va**um (2000), from Damien Hirst’s Pharmaceutical series, features a circular arrangement of colorful dots creating a dynamic, rhythmic spiral effect. 🔴🟣🟡🟢

Featured in the ‘Science: Life or Death' section of FLOWERS, this arrangement mirrors the seed pattern of a daisy 🌼 and is based on Fermat spirals, as illustrated in Robert Dixon’s True Daisy (1984), which later featured in The Penguin Book of Curious and Interesting Geometry.

You can discover the interesting mathematics and scientific healing properties of flora until 31 August at Saatchi Gallery’s blockbuster exhibition, FLOWERS – Flora in Contemporary Art & Culture.

If we didn’t know better, we’d think this ivy-leaf tiara belonged to an elven princess 🧝‍♀ 🌿

This realistic piece uses finely enameled gold to create the veined ivy leaves, while the small clusters of berries are inset chrysoberyl gems – a stone named for its golden-white hue ✨

👑 Tiara with ivy leaves and berries. Gold, enamel, and chrysoberyl, from England, around 1890.
