Join us on 1st April 2026 as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Babbacombe Cliff Railway!
πŸ•₯ Time: 10:30am – 4:45pm
All rides will be FREE for the entire day
Come along, enjoy the historic railway, take in the views, and celebrate a century of this iconic attraction with us.
We look forward to seeing you there!


Built in 1926, the Babbacombe Cliff Railway has shuttled hundreds of thousands of holiday makers to and from Oddicombe Beach in almost 100 years of service.
We're currently open Wednesday-Sunday, from 10am to 4pm

🌟 Weekly Highlights From Our Home 🌟

We’ve had another lovely week filled with smiles, laughter and special moments together! Here’s what we’ve been up to:

πŸ’… Monday – Ladies Pamper Day
Our week began with some well-deserved pampering! Residents enjoyed visits from the hairdresser along with nail painting, leaving everyone feeling refreshed and fabulous.

🌊 Tuesday – Fresh Air & Music
We started the day with a beautiful beach walk, enjoying the sea air and lovely views. In the afternoon we were entertained by Bing the accordionist, with plenty of singing along and tapping feet.

πŸ’š Wednesday – Connection & Fun
The morning was spent having meaningful 1-2-1 time with residents. In the afternoon we got moving with chair exercises followed by some fun games together.

🎀 Thursday – Games & Community Time
More 1-2-1 visits in the morning before a fantastic interactive game show with Dave in the afternoon. Later we headed to Tea @ 3 at Upton Vale Church, which was a lovely chance to enjoy tea, cake and great company.

🚢 Friday – Out & About & Classic TV
Residents enjoyed 1-2-1 walks in our local community during the morning. In the afternoon we relaxed together watching classic TV quiz shows including You Bet! with Matthew Kelly, sparking lots of memories and conversations.

Another wonderful week full of activity, companionship and smiles. We’re already looking forward to next week! πŸ’›

🌿 Weekly Wellbeing Round-Up 🌿

We’ve had another wonderful week filled with connection, movement, music, and meaningful experiences!

πŸ₯£ Monday

We started the week with a fantastic morning visit to our local Torquay United Indoor Bowls Club, where residents enjoyed watching and engaging in light bowls in a welcoming community setting. It was a lovely way to get out and about while staying active.
In the afternoon, we continued the fun back in the lounge with classic games including hoopla and indoor bowls β€” lots of laughter and friendly competition all round!

🎢 Tuesday

The morning was dedicated to personalised 1-to-1 time and gentle indoor walks, supporting both emotional wellbeing and light physical activity.
In the afternoon, the lounge came alive with music-making! Residents enjoyed playing instruments and singing along to their favourite songs β€” a beautiful session full of smiles, rhythm, and shared memories.

πŸ’†β€β™€οΈ Wednesday – Ladies’ Day

A truly special day of pampering and relaxation. Residents enjoyed soothing hand massages and visits from the hairdresser, leaving everyone feeling refreshed, cared for, and radiant.

🎀 Thursday

More meaningful 1-to-1 time in the morning, followed by a fabulous afternoon of rock ’n’ roll with our wonderful live singer Lea. The music had everyone tapping their feet and singing along β€” such uplifting energy!

πŸ› Friday

We ended the week with a lovely trip out to Torquay Museum, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Residents explored fascinating local history exhibits and shared stories inspired by the displays. A truly enriching and enjoyable experience.

We are currently looking to connect with local volunteers, community groups, and organisations who would be willing to visit our care home and provide enriching experiences for our wonderful residents.

This could include:
🎡 Singers or musicians
🎨 Arts & crafts groups
🐾 Therapy animal visits
πŸ“– Reading groups
🧘 Gentle movement or wellbeing sessions
🌿 Gardening clubs
🎭 Drama or performance groups
πŸŽ“ Schools or youth groups wanting to connect across generations

✨ Last Week at a Glance ✨

We’ve had another lovely, activity-filled week and wanted to share a little catch-up of what our residents have been enjoying πŸ’«

🎢 Monday
We started the week with a calm morning of 1-to-1 time, followed by an afternoon of music making. Residents loved playing instruments alongside their favourite songs – plenty of smiles and toe-tapping all round.

🎸 Tuesday
A musical afternoon quiz celebrating Buddy Holly Day, remembering his incredible legacy on the anniversary of his passing in 1959. Lots of great music memories shared together.

🌿 Wednesday
A busy and beautiful day – morning walks out in the community and local parks, some relaxed 1-to-1s, and a much-loved Ladies Hair Day in the afternoon. A real feel-good day.

β˜• Thursday
We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea at Upton Vale Church Dementia CafΓ©. The volunteers were absolutely lovely and made everyone feel so welcome – thank you for having us.

πŸŽ‰ Friday
We rounded off the week with a firm favourite… Bingo! Always a winner and enjoyed by everyone.

Monday
The week began with morning chair exercises, followed by a relaxing afternoon tea at The Anchorage, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed β˜•πŸ«–

Tuesday
We loved welcoming our friends from Lorna House for a joint breakfast, sharing great food and conversation πŸ₯
The afternoon included gentle walks and baking as we celebrated National Chocolate Cake Day 🍫🍰

Wednesday
The morning was spent on 1-2-1 time, followed by a lovely Ladies’ Afternoon with hair and nails. After lunch, residents enjoyed taking part in fun ice-breaker questions, sparking plenty of laughter πŸ’…πŸ’¬

Thursday
More 1-2-1s took place in the morning, and the afternoon was a real highlight with live entertainment from our amazing new vocalist Jess Rowe, who gave a fantastic performance 🎢✨

Friday
We ended the week with a friendly bowls tournament, followed by a very special afternoon tea with our families, a perfect way to finish the week πŸŽ³β˜•
