🌿 Weekly Activity Update 🌿

Here’s what we’ve got planned for a fun and engaging week ahead:

✨ Monday: Bingo – always a favourite!
✨ Tuesday: 1-2-1’s & classic parlour games
✨ Wednesday: Pamper Day with our wonderful hairdresser Sue & massage therapist Jackie
✨ Thursday: 1-2-1’s & live entertainment from the lovely Jess & a visit from Valerie who gave us a talk on St George’s Day
✨ Friday: First viewing of the outdoor bowls tournament of the season 🎳

We’re looking forward to a week full of connection, relaxation, and plenty of smiles 💚

✨ Weekly Highlights ✨

What a wonderful week we’ve had! Here’s a little look at what we’ve been up to…

🌿 Monday – Enjoyed lovely walks out in the local community followed by a fun memory quiz all about the wonders of the world 🌍

💬 Tuesday – Meaningful 1-2-1 time with residents and lots of laughter during a game of Never Have I Ever

💅 Wednesday – A pampering Ladies Day with nails, hairdresser visits, and plenty of smiles

🐣 Thursday – Got creative with Easter artwork and began decorating for the celebrations, topped off with fantastic live entertainment from our wonderful singer Sam 🎶

🎉 Friday – More 1-2-1 time and a classic game of bingo to round off the week

We’ve had another wonderful couple weeks full of laughter, creativity, and community spirit! Here’s what we’ve been up to:

🎤 Karaoke & sing-alongs – lots of smiles and favourite tunes🎳 Indoor bowls tournament – complete with our very own lane🌸 Easter & spring crafts – getting creative with seasonal joy🍵 Flavoured tea tasting – a lovely sensory experience🪙 Traditional shove ha’penny games – bringing back fond memories💺 Armchair exercises – keeping active and energised🎶 Live entertainment from Elvis – a fantastic performance enjoyed by all🎲 Bingo – always a favourite!🫖 Afternoon tea at the Anchorage Hotel – a real treat out🌳 Walks in the local community and parks – enjoying the fresh air💇‍♀️ Ladies’ hairdressing days – feeling pampered and refreshed☕ Dementia Café at Upton Vale Church – connection, support, and companionship

🎉 Babbacombe Cliff Railway Turns 100! 🎉
Join us on 1st April 2026 as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Babbacombe Cliff Railway!
🕥 Time: 10:30am – 4:45pm
All rides will be FREE for the entire day
Come along, enjoy the historic railway, take in the views, and celebrate a century of this iconic attraction with us.
We look forward to seeing you there!


Built in 1926, the Babbacombe Cliff Railway has shuttled hundreds of thousands of holiday makers to and from Oddicombe Beach in almost 100 years of service.
We're currently open Wednesday-Sunday, from 10am to 4pm

🌟 Weekly Highlights From Our Home 🌟

We’ve had another lovely week filled with smiles, laughter and special moments together! Here’s what we’ve been up to:

💅 Monday – Ladies Pamper Day
Our week began with some well-deserved pampering! Residents enjoyed visits from the hairdresser along with nail painting, leaving everyone feeling refreshed and fabulous.

🌊 Tuesday – Fresh Air & Music
We started the day with a beautiful beach walk, enjoying the sea air and lovely views. In the afternoon we were entertained by Bing the accordionist, with plenty of singing along and tapping feet.

💚 Wednesday – Connection & Fun
The morning was spent having meaningful 1-2-1 time with residents. In the afternoon we got moving with chair exercises followed by some fun games together.

🎤 Thursday – Games & Community Time
More 1-2-1 visits in the morning before a fantastic interactive game show with Dave in the afternoon. Later we headed to Tea @ 3 at Upton Vale Church, which was a lovely chance to enjoy tea, cake and great company.

🚶 Friday – Out & About & Classic TV
Residents enjoyed 1-2-1 walks in our local community during the morning. In the afternoon we relaxed together watching classic TV quiz shows including You Bet! with Matthew Kelly, sparking lots of memories and conversations.

Another wonderful week full of activity, companionship and smiles. We’re already looking forward to next week! 💛

🌿 Weekly Wellbeing Round-Up 🌿

We’ve had another wonderful week filled with connection, movement, music, and meaningful experiences!

🥣 Monday

We started the week with a fantastic morning visit to our local Torquay United Indoor Bowls Club, where residents enjoyed watching and engaging in light bowls in a welcoming community setting. It was a lovely way to get out and about while staying active.
In the afternoon, we continued the fun back in the lounge with classic games including hoopla and indoor bowls — lots of laughter and friendly competition all round!

🎶 Tuesday

The morning was dedicated to personalised 1-to-1 time and gentle indoor walks, supporting both emotional wellbeing and light physical activity.
In the afternoon, the lounge came alive with music-making! Residents enjoyed playing instruments and singing along to their favourite songs — a beautiful session full of smiles, rhythm, and shared memories.

💆‍♀️ Wednesday – Ladies’ Day

A truly special day of pampering and relaxation. Residents enjoyed soothing hand massages and visits from the hairdresser, leaving everyone feeling refreshed, cared for, and radiant.

🎤 Thursday

More meaningful 1-to-1 time in the morning, followed by a fabulous afternoon of rock ’n’ roll with our wonderful live singer Lea. The music had everyone tapping their feet and singing along — such uplifting energy!

🏛 Friday

We ended the week with a lovely trip out to Torquay Museum, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Residents explored fascinating local history exhibits and shared stories inspired by the displays. A truly enriching and enjoyable experience.

🌟 Can You Help Us Create Special Moments for Our Residents? 🌟

We are currently looking to connect with local volunteers, community groups, and organisations who would be willing to visit our care home and provide enriching experiences for our wonderful residents.

This could include:
🎵 Singers or musicians
🎨 Arts & crafts groups
🐾 Therapy animal visits
📖 Reading groups
🧘 Gentle movement or wellbeing sessions
🌿 Gardening clubs
🎭 Drama or performance groups
🎓 Schools or youth groups wanting to connect across generations
