A look back at last week's Christmassy activities -

🎄Monday - painting some Christmas ornaments & welcoming the choir ( all girls! ) from Ellacombe Academy to sing some Christmas songs! 🎶🎅One of our residents enjoyed playing some table tennis with Rakesh too! 🏓

🎄Tuesday - We listened to some Christmas music & also made some paper Christmas wreaths. After lunch it was our weekly hairdressing day & several ladies enjoyed a pamper!

🎄Wednesday - We enjoyed a sing-a- long of Christmas songs & carols 🎶🎅🎄& some quizzes. Followed by marzipaning the mini Christmas cakes we'd made.

🎄 Thursday - It was our weekly Church service with volunteers from St Mags Church - including some more singing of carols! After lunch we were entertained by the brilliant Peter Dell with some fabulous Christmas music followed by watching "White Christmas" .

🎄Friday - Some more Christmas quizzes, listening to Christmas music & icing the Christmas cakes!

🎄Saturday - some armchair exercises!

Every lunchtime too we have a lunchtime topic to discuss/ reminisce about with some amusing answers! ❤️🤔🎄🎅🌟

Here's a reflection of last week's Activities at Lorna House Care Home Torquay!
🧁Monday started with making mini Christmas cakes & enjoying a glass of sherry at the same time! Why not?! It was a team effort & provided lots of reminiscence of times gone by!
🎄🎨🖌️ Tuesday gave us a crafty time of making some Christmas trees & putting up decorations along with some lovely hairstyles and nail care🪮✂️

💬 Wednesday we enjoyed a very interesting talk about the history of Babbacombe and a Resident's Meeting- an opportunity to share our views. It was great to welcome some family members too.

🙏 Thursday brought us our weekly Church service with our faithful volunteers from St. Mags Church & some beautiful music from Camille.🎶

🎍🪏🧑‍🌾 Friday we took an excursion to Jack's Patch Garden centre to look at the amazing Christmas decorations including some singing penguins along with tea & cake!

Over lunchtime we have introduced some topics to discuss recently. A chance to think & reminisce, smile & laugh together! ❤️

A look back at our fun filled week! Changing from Autumn crafts into Christmas decorating! We have also introduced some light-hearted topics to ponder over at lunchtime. This has proved amusing at times! We talked about a favourite film star we admired, favourite TV programme past or present, our philosophy for life & if we were prince or princess for a day what would we wish for?
We welcomed Turning Heads Community Group, Samantha Scott who entertained us with some fabulous songs, Volunteers from St. Mags Church for our weekly Church service, enjoyed some uplifting haircare & nail care & painted some wooden decorations! A fun filled week making memories & sharing fun and laughter! ❤️🎄🎈🌟🎨🖌️🪮✂️🧶

A look back at some of the memories we've made last week -

Monday - painting poppies & Bingo🖌️🎨

Tuesday - a couple of our residents met with many others to remember the fallen at the St.Marychurch Memorial service. A reflective poignant time, thinking of those who served & still serve for us. 🪖🌹❤️
Also a remembrance theme & hairdressing day. ✂️🪮

Wednesday - Armchair exercises and making Christmas cards to sell.🎄🎅

Thursday - our weekly Church Service with volunteers from St. Mags Church & an enjoyable time at the Anchorage Hotel! ☕🍰

Friday - our Children in Need Coffee Morning where we enjoyed some delicious cakes, sold some of our cards, tested our skills with a game - stacking 25 cups ( Challenge 25) and a quiz. 🧸💛 We also started to put our Christmas tree together, enjoyed some great films & had some great fun! A wonderful week!

Yesterday a couple of our residents braved the weather & attended the Remembrance Memorial service at St. Marychurch. It was a poignant time to reflect on all those that gave their lives in both wars & are still serving us. They were also given a little knitted sailor to keep made by the St. Marychurch knitting group. "At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them" ❤️🪖🌹
