🌿🥾♥️ Trail Tuesday - word of the day: a godsend = something which can really help you when path gets challenging
Do you need hiking poles on the Coast Path ?
There are many steps and steep hills on the coast path so if your planning to walk long stretches of the path my advice would be yes. When the path is rocky, steep on the uphill or downhill, or muddy , having poked with you can be a godsend as they take a lot if weight off your legs and you can use them to steady yourself and keep walking confidently.
Sometimes people say they aren't "that old" - to me it isn't about age; it's about saving the strain on your knees. Plus it's exercise for your arms too !
That said I've passed fell runners and ultra marathon runners who of course don't use them and walkers out for the day who don't either. It's a personal choice but having a collapsible pair in your bag could serve you well even if you don't use them all the time.
