What a gorgeous end to our time at the incredible .

It was a quiet group, and we were unexpectedly joined by Rose who is a dispatcher for the ambulance service who had a cuppa with us. She was home educated growing up too, and we can't wait to welcome her back to another session where she can give us a great insight into how the ambulance service works (with a unique perspective being home educated herself and working her way up in the NHS).

We all chatted whilst the children played together. A 5 year old and a 9 year old quietly playing with lego - two ages who would never really meet in mainstream school, and yet have found a mutual interest together.

Thank you to everyone who came to our sessions at Eli House.

It’s time for one last cuppa at ☕💛

This space has been the home of so many lovely mornings — coffee, conversations, children playing, and families finding their feet in the home ed world.

We’ve loved every single one.

But as You Can Sit With Us continues to grow, we’re making a small change…

We’re stepping away from hired venues and moving towards more relaxed, lounge-style meet-ups across the Bay and Exeter.

We're in talks with some fantastic places and we can't wait to share with you all our plans 💃🏼

Monday 23rd March will be our final Eli House coffee morning.

Running sessions at Eli House has been really special — but it also comes with a lot behind the scenes.

Hiring the space, planning, bookings, logistics… and sometimes not knowing who (or how many!) will walk through the door.

We've been running these sessions for 6 months, and realised something important. We could literally be anywhere, as long as we bring good energy & welcoming vibes.

So instead of putting energy into running structured sessions, we’re choosing to focus on what Adam and I do best…

Bringing people together.

Moving forward, You Can Sit With Us will be:

☕ relaxed café meet-ups
💬 easy, no-pressure connection, socialisation and friendship building in a safe space

Same community — just a simpler way of doing it.

We've found our first venue...in Paignton! 🌊

And we're viewing a space in Exeter too ⛪

Obviously we'll be testing the coffee first to make sure it's right for you guys! ✌🏼

Easter Holiday Forest School Sessions!

Hi folks! I'll be running forest school sessions during the Easter holidays on the 8th, 9th, 10th and 15th, 16th and 17th of April from 9-3pm at my site on Cofton Hill, near the Dawlish Countryside park. Sessions are for children aged 5 and upwards and cost £32 per child.

For the first time, I've also been able to secure some sponsorship from local businesses. so I'm happy to announce that I can also offer 5 FREE spaces. Priority will be given to those children who have not been to my forest school before and are allocated on a first come, first served basis. You just need to be able to transport your child there and back and pack a lunch.

The Little Art Shed Studio - based in Newton Abbott, is a cosy, welcoming space offering workshops for adults and children, holiday art sessions and home education sessions. A relaxed, inclusive environment where you can come as you are, make art and let your imagination run free.

We’ve noticed tomorrow’s YCSWU coffee morning at is looking a little quieter than usual… which actually might be the perfect time to come along if you’ve been thinking about trying it but weren’t sure about walking into a busy room.

And just so you know - even if only a couple of families book on, we still show up. We’ll always pop the kettle on, open up the cupcakes and bring out the Lego boxes - and make space for whoever needs it that day.

So if you’re free tomorrow morning, come and join us.

Find your home ed community – Coffee Morning

💰 £6 per family or £10 per child for drop off
👧🏼 All ages welcome, 7+ for drop off

We’re fully insured and able to offer morning drop-offs from age 7+.if you need a couple of hours to yourself. No pressure at all — some children are ready for that, some aren’t, and that’s completely okay.

If you’re coming along as a family, you can expect:

🧡 A warm welcome
🧡 Free tea, coffee… and of course, biscuits
🧡 Time to chat and meet other home-ed families
🧡 Lego, Playmobil, books and colouring
🧡 A cosy, clean space that sometimes gets a bit lively, sometimes stays calm — it all depends on the kids!

Whether you’ve been before or you’re thinking of trying us out, we’d love to have you join us. A lot of families even head to the free IKEA home-ed session afterwards to make a full morning of it.

Thank you so much to everyone who came to our special little coffee morning yesterday at Eli House

We had the wonderful Chris and Sarah join us from Devon Air Ambulance to talk with the children. They even had some costumes for them to try on!
