Welcome to all our new followers - let us introduce ourselves again 🫶🏼

We're Adam and Caron - home educating parents to a bloody brilliant kid called Autumn, and paw-rents to Murphy the dog.

We created You Can Sit With Us back in early 2025 as a drop off, co-learning space for home educated children. The best way to describe it was: like co-working, but for kids. Businesses don't always go to plan though, and sometimes we just have to let it grow organically in the direction it wants to go - and that's okay! So now, we run social coffee mornings for home educating families to come and have a cuppa, let their kids play & feel like they belong to a little community.

We're also building an online community for other businesses who offer home educating sessions/events to advertise.

We are doing so much behind the scenes to make sure that what we offer is welcoming for everyone. The clue is in the name: 'you can sit with us'. No cliques, no judging, no sitting alone. Just a bloody lovely group of families who are ready to welcome anyone in ✌🏼

We've got lots coming up, including our first session of the year on the 9th February at the gorgeous

We've then got an incredible guest speaker from Devon Air Ambulance who is coming along to our session on the 23rd Feb at to give the children an insight to the work they do.

We've been in contact with other organisations to get them on board too - watch this space! There's oodles of opportunities for our children and we're just trying to make it all easier to access.

Home educating families:
Come along with the kids, have a cuppa and a biscuit and make yourself at home with us.

Children of all ages are welcome, and parents must stay on site.

We’ll bring along Lego, board games, colouring and creative activities, giving children the chance to socialise while grown-ups connect with like-minded families.

This is such a brilliant opportunity for our home ed community - giving children the kind of experience they might usually only get in a mainstream school setting… and it’s just the first of many exciting things we’ve got planned 👀

What to expect:

🧑‍🚁 A friendly, child-appropriate talk
🎥 A short presentation or video
🧸 Meet Ambrose Teddy, who flies on every mission
🪖 Try on uniforms & pilot helmets

We are looking forward to being back in February after a little break over Christmas.

Dates for your diary:

Monday 9th February - Eli House, Exeter 10:30 - 12:30 - £6 per family

Monday 16th February - The Place, St Marychurch, Torquay 10:30 - 12:30 - £6 per family

What to expect?

A warm welcome - always. Come on in, grab a cuppa and chat with other home educating families in the area. We always bring games, lego and a few crafts for children to keep them busy. Often, we'll have a film playing on the projector, or some music in the background.
Sometimes we'll have guest speakers come in, other home ed businesses or charities to come and chat with us about what they do.

We always bring our community book swap (Autumn's Library) so that you can take some new books to read. We're also working on a community pantry and clothes swap too.

But most importantly, you'll be welcomed in. There's no cliques here and no sitting alone (unless you want to!).
Home ed is hard enough as it is - we're here to make things a little bit easier whilst you're finding your feet.

Who is this for?
Anyone! All ages welcome. If you'd prefer to drop your child/ren off, please get in touch. We are a drop off provision for children over 7.

🚨Update 13/01 - Cancelled due to unforseen circumstances 😓🚨

We have managed to find a gorgeous new home for us here in our home village of St Marychurch, Torquay.

The Place is a beautiful, light, airy and clean space run by lovely Theresa, and we are so excited to trial our sessions here in Torquay on an alternate Monday.

We need to hear from you though - what would you like?
Would you like a coffee morning where parents can stay and socialise? Would you like it to be a drop off provision so that you can get a couple of hours to yourself? Or would you like a mix of both? A coffee morning, with the opportunity to drop off?

We're back.

And we've got so many more ideas that are just bursting out of our brains - our heads can't hold them all!

We've got lots to share with you, but at the moment there is so much work being done in the background that we don't even know where to start!
