Embrace Tiger, Return To Mountain

Workshop - 12th April 10am to 1pm

Much of what I have learned from Tai Chi over the decades has been pretty simple - tune in to the body sensations, encourage releasing in the body, understand how movement happens and aim to make it all refined and smooth.

The underlying principles of Yin & Yang can be seen both in the physical aspect and in the mental aspect of Tai Chi, and the chi seems to follow naturally.

Within the context of learning the structure of the Form, we have a brilliant mechanism to find more focus and a kind of 'inner balance' which leads us to feel more harmonious and happy.

In essence, alongside the choreography of the Form, this is what I will be attempting to teach during this workshop.

Timings:

10am to 10.45am - warm ups and Tai Chi Start (lifting/sinking)

10.45am to 11.30am - Movements of the Form (these will vary depending on your experience)

11.30am - short break

11.40am to 12pm - simple partner exercises (Push Hands Circle)

12pm to 12.45pm - Movements of the Form

12.45pm to 1pm - Whole Form and stretching to finish

The new year got off to a flying start on Tuesday, with the free taster session full to the brim. Thanks to everyone that came.

Everyone is still welcome at the classes, just come along next Tuesday.

Each session covers Tai Chi, Qigong, Daoyin and self-massage.

Classes are suitable for beginners or those with experience and cost £12 or you can buy a 10-class card for £100.
