Colour can tell you something.
But it is not the whole story.

If you want better salmon, start by looking at the label, not just the shade.

Where was it caught?
Was it sustainably sourced?
Is it certified by bodies like MSC?

Different species vary too. Wild Alaskan sockeye will naturally look different from wild Atlantic salmon. Even season and diet shift the tone slightly.

And remember this.
Omega 3 content is influenced by the fish’s natural food chain and overall environment, not just how orange it appears.

If you are investing in your health, treat fish like any other nutrient dense food.
Quality over convenience.
Source over marketing.

Next time you are at the fish counter, what do you look at first?

Not all cooking oils are the same.

One major difference is their linoleic acid content, an omega 6 polyunsaturated fat.

Some oils contain over 50 to 70% linoleic acid, while others contain as little as 1 to 3%.

Why this matters:

• High intakes of omega 6, especially without enough omega 3, may promote a more pro inflammatory environment
• Polyunsaturated fats are more prone to oxidation when exposed to heat
• The omega 6 to omega 3 balance influences cell membranes, signalling pathways and metabolic health

Lower linoleic acid options typically include:

• Olive oil
• Avocado oil
• Butter and ghee
• Tallow
• Coconut oil

Higher linoleic acid oils often include:

• Safflower
• Sunflower
• Corn
• Soybean
• Grapeseed

Context matters. Dose matters. Overall dietary pattern matters.

The goal is not fear. It is awareness and balance.

Which oil do you cook with most?

Most people think longevity is just about diet or exercise.
ă…¤
But one small system in your body quietly decides how well you age.
ă…¤
It affects your heart, your metabolism, your immune system, and even your gut.
It reacts to how you breathe, move, and recover.
ă…¤
The good news? You can strengthen it with simple daily habits.
Slow breathing. Walking. Cold exposure. Even a few minutes with the right device.
ă…¤
These aren’t extreme changes. They are signals that tell your body it can recover and repair.
Over time, that adds years to your life.
ă…¤
If you want to try the device I mentioned, comment “Pulsetto” and I will send you the details and a discount code.
They also offer a 30 day money back guarantee, so you can test it with confidence.

Take your shoes off before you go inside.
Always.

Studies show almost all shoe soles carry bacteria.
The kind you find in p**p.
About a quarter even have E. coli.

Think about it.
Public restrooms, streets, restaurants.
You don’t want that on your floors.

Up to 99% of those bacteria transfer from your shoes to your home.
And they can live for weeks.

It’s a small habit with a big impact.
Leave your shoes at the door.
Protect your home.

Most of us think chocolate is something you need to “be careful with”.
But dark chocolate is one of those foods that quietly does a lot of good when you understand it.

A small piece of proper dark chocolate contains around 4 grams of fibre.
That’s more than people expect, and a lot of it is soluble fibre.
This is the kind that slows digestion and helps keep blood sugar more stable instead of spiking.

Then there’s the polyphenols.
These are the same protective compounds we talk about with berries and olive oil.
They support heart health and brain function, and large studies have shown real benefits here.

You also get magnesium.
Around 50 mg in a small serving, which is huge for something people still think of as a “treat”.
Magnesium plays a role in energy, stress, sleep, and muscle function.

The key is quality.
This only works if it’s real dark chocolate.

Look for:
• 70 percent cocoa or higher
• Short ingredient list
• No added junk

Eaten like this, dark chocolate isn’t cheating.
It’s just another smart food when you know what to look for.

🍦 HEALTHIER HOMEMADE ICE CREAM

Most ice creams are loaded with refined sugar, emulsifiers and ultra processed fats.

This version focuses on nutrient dense ingredients that support metabolic and gut health.

What’s inside:

• Pasture raised egg yolks for choline, essential for brain function
• Raw goats milk and grass fed double cream for fat soluble vitamins
• Mineral salt for trace elements
• Ceylon cinnamon, shown in clinical studies to improve insulin sensitivity
• Raw honey, which has a lower glycaemic impact compared with refined sugar when used moderately
• Kefir, rich in live cultures that support gut microbiota diversity
• Blueberries, high in anthocyanins linked to cognitive and cardiovascular benefits
• Raw pollen for additional micronutrients

Fermented dairy products such as kefir have been associated with improved gut microbiome composition and metabolic markers in clinical research.

Cinnamon has been shown in meta analyses to modestly reduce fasting blood glucose and improve insulin sensitivity.

This is not calorie free. It is nutrient focused.

Whole ingredients. No industrial additives. No extreme sugar spike.

Stress does not disappear by “relaxing more”.

It comes down when the nervous system feels safe again.

Small daily signals tell your brain everything is okay.
Breathing slower.
Moving gently.
Seeing daylight.
Spending time outside.
Cooling the body.
Letting the mind slow down.

These are not lifestyle trends.
They are biological switches.

When you use them consistently, cortisol drops.
Heart rate steadies.
Sleep improves.
Focus comes back.

And over time, your body becomes more resilient to pressure instead of constantly overwhelmed by it.

You do not need complicated routines.
You need simple habits done often.

Which one are you going to try today?

You probably don’t think about your pineal gland much.
But you should.

It’s that tiny organ in your brain that controls your sleep, your rhythm, even your intuition.
The ancients called it the seat of the soul.

But today, it’s under attack.
Fluoride from tap water and toothpaste builds up in it over time.
It hardens it.
Disrupts your sleep.
And dulls your clarity.

Here’s the good news — your body knows how to heal.
Boron helps balance minerals.
Tamarind helps remove fluoride.

Protect your pineal gland.
Protect your awareness.

Quick one that made me change how I wash my dishes.

That sponge sitting next to your sink? It’s usually one of the dirtiest things in the house. It stays wet, traps food, and bacteria love it.

Some studies have found sponges can hold billions of bacteria, including ones you really don’t want on your plates.

And something most people don’t think about.
A lot of sponges are made from plastic. Every time you scrub, tiny plastic particles can end up on your dishes.

What I did was simple.
I stopped using plastic sponges and switched to natural fibre or wooden dish brushes. They dry faster and stay much cleaner.

Small change, but it made a big difference in how I think about my kitchen.

Most people think Himalayan or Celtic salt are the healthiest options.

But published research analysing commercially available salts has shown that contamination levels can vary widely depending on the source, with some products containing measurable levels of heavy metals such as lead and arsenic.

Chronic heavy metal exposure has been associated in the scientific literature with cognitive decline, cardiovascular risk and reduced cellular energy production.

Standard table salt is highly refined and often contains anti caking agents. It does not offer meaningful micronutrient advantages compared with other salts.

Independent testing has shown that some sea salt flakes, including Maldon Sea Salt Flakes, can have comparatively low detectable heavy metal contamination.

If you are choosing salt:
• Prioritise purity over marketing
• Focus on contamination levels
• Keep overall sodium intake within recommended limits

Clean. Simple. Effective.
