(Due to the personal nature of the care and the client’s preferences, this role has a genuine occupational requirement for a male carer, in line with the Equality Act 2010)

To start 2nd January 2026.

2 Weeks On / 2 Weeks Off.

Pay: From £980.00 per week. £30 travel expenses each way. £40 weekly food allowance.

An exciting opportunity for a self-employed male Live-in Carer to support a lovely gentleman living in Bridgewater, Somerset.

This is a 2-week on / 2-week off placement, offering an excellent work-life balance while making a genuine difference to someone’s life.

About the Client:

The client is living with dementia and leads an active and sociable lifestyle. He enjoys:

Walking and spending time outdoors
Socialising and visiting the pub to see friends
Rugby, engineering and general sports
Spending time with his dog
You will support him with day-to-day living while encouraging independence, companionship and enjoyment of life.

Key Responsibilities:

Companionship and emotional support
Encouraging and assisting with personal care
Preparing and cooking meals
Supporting mobility and daily activities
Accompanying the client on walks, outings and social visits
Overseeing medication in line with the care plan
Light household duties such as cleaning and laundry
Running errands including shopping and prescriptions
Additional training is provided for more complex needs, including first aid.

Essential Requirements:

Male applicant
Self-employed status
Full UK driving license
Own vehicle with business insurance
Compassionate, patient and reliable nature
Excellent spoken and written English
Right to work in the UK
Must have Dementia Care experience
Rolling DBS
Mandatory Health & Social Care Training (Can be provided at cost)
2 years live-in care experience is essential

What an amazing day we had! 🎄🥧

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our annual Christmas get-together. It was wonderful seeing our staff, clients, families and friends all enjoying some festive fun together — from singing to bingo and everything in between!

A special shout-out to:
🎶 The children and teachers from Grampound Road CofE School for their beautiful Christmas carols and incredible Makaton skills — you filled the room with joy!
🎅 Gary, our brilliantly bubbly Santa, for spreading Christmas cheer and helping the children hand out presents.
🍽️ Gemma, for preparing the delicious food — and Clair and Kevin, whose homemade Stilton & Broccoli soup was an absolute hit!
🛍️ Wendy, for arranging a fantastic buying stall full of treasures from your Wendy House collection.
📋 Rose, whose organisation made the whole event possible — we couldn’t have done it without you!

A huge thank you to Grampound Road CofE School for joining us at our annual Christmas Pie & Mingle Day! 🎄🥧

We absolutely loved having the children with us—bringing young and old together is what this day is all about. Their wonderful singing filled the room with Christmas cheer, and their amazing Makaton skills wowed everyone… even Father Christmas was impressed! 🎅✨

Thank you for helping make this year’s event extra special. We can’t wait to welcome you all again next year ❤️

🎄 Mince Pie & Mingle at Taylors of Grampound🎅✨

Some of our students had a wonderful afternoon visiting Taylors of Grampound this week for their Mince Pie & Mingle party for members of the local community. Our children sang Christmas songs and even helped Father Christmas hand out presents — and were absolutely thrilled to receive some themselves! 🎁🎶

A particularly special moment came when one of our students noticed a guest using sign language. Without hesitation, our children signed and sang a Christmas song together, creating a truly heart-warming scene. 🤟❤️

We are incredibly proud of our students for being such fantastic ambassadors for our school. Well done! 🌟
