Oxytocin is such an important hormone during labour. It kicks the whole process off. And we only make it when relaxed, calm and feeling safe. There are lots of things we can do to help us feel that way eg. darker room, relaxing sounds and smells, massage.

We discuss all the ways we can get the oxytocin flowing in my course. I am currently offering a 1:1 course either at your home, mine or on Zoom. Feel free to message to discuss! X

You will find that people often ask when you’re due and one tip I give people is to keep it very broad eg. Oh I’m due the end of august. That way as you get closer to your estimated due date you won’t be inundated with texts and calls seeing if baby has arrived yet!

Did you know that only 5% of babies come on their due date? And most babies come between 37-42 weeks.

Baby will come when baby is ready!

😂 I saw this and had to post it! I remember all too well that feeling towards the end of pregnancy when I had to psych myself up to tie my shoelaces and anything that got dropped on the floor had to just stay there!

Morning sickness is really common in pregnant women, up to 80% of women experience nausea or vomiting in the first trimester. It’s all thanks to hormonal changes happening in your body. It usually eases around weeks 12-16 but everyone is different and it can carry on later into pregnancy. Here are some ways to ease the symptoms:
❤️ eat little and often. An empty stomach can make you feel worse so try and eat and drink little and often.
❤️try to avoid carbs like white pasta and white bread which can make you feel bloated.
❤️try drinking peppermint tea.
❤️try to rest and sleep, tiredness can make the symptoms worse.
❤️try eating and drinking ginger as they have natural anti-nausea properties. Either pop some fresh chopped ginger in hot water or munch ginger biscuits.
❤️drink lemon water. Lemon can ease an upset stomach. Try a slice of lemon in hot water.
❤️avoid rich, spicy and creamy food as this can irritate the stomach

There are things that we can do to prepare our body and our mind for birth than might help us to have a shorter labour. We can prepare our bodies to be as healthy and strong as possible and we can prepare our mind to remain calm and relaxed so the body can work to the best it can during labour. Have a look at these tips and tag a friend who might benefit from them!

I am currently offering 1:1 with women and birth partners to have a calm and positive birth. Get in contact with me if you are interested too! X

The breathing techniques that are taught in hypnobirthing can be used long after birth. I still use ‘in for 4 and out for more’ during times of stress. Whether that’s the school run, work, threenager tantrums or 6 going on 16 year olds!

Save this post for later and tag a friend who might need to know this!

❤️Happy Mother’s Day❤️

Sending much love today to all the mums. However that might be: new mums, expectant mums, step mums, pet mums. And to those who find today hard, sending all the love too.

Here is one of the first photos of me as a new mum. Looking tired, overwhelmed but like a warrior after my birth.
