Meet The Team

May we tell you more about Mr Damian Lake, our Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon who specialises in Cornea and Anterior Segment.

What that means in layman’s terms is that Mr Lake focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and disorders that affect the front part of the eye.

He will deal with issues with the cornea, iris, lens, and anterior chamber requiring:
✨Cataract surgery
✨Corneal Transplants 
✨Treatment for corneal infections  
✨Management of keratoconus where the cornea bulges, impacting vision
✨Pterygium surgery i.e. removal of abnormal tissue growth on the cornea
✨Iris repair
This is not an inclusive list.

Let’s talk about Macular Degeneration.

It’s a condition that is generally connected to ageing and is likely to be diagnosed by your optician at a routine check up. We can help you whether you have an optician referral or not.

At The Sight Centre, we have a selection of management and treatment options for dry and wet macular degeneration, relevant to the specific needs and stage of the condition.
🔬
Our Lumithera machine treats the symptoms of dry AMD using a low-intensity light that acts at a cellular level to treat the condition. Our customers book a block of 9 sessions which they take over 3 weeks for £2,000. The results have been exceptional and we are leading the way in this form of treatment.
