This is beautiful ❤️

GOD, THIS IS BEAUTIFUL! TAKE THE TIME TO READ IT ❤️
As someone who writes often, I naturally appreciate epic writing when I see it. This morning, I came across this written piece of art and it moved me deeply, so I had to share it with all of you! Not only are these words true theatre, they also act as sound advice ❤️

my brain and
heart divorced

a decade ago

over who was
to blame about
how big of a mess
I have become

eventually,
they couldn't be
in the same room
with each other

now my head and heart
share custody of me

I stay with my brain
during the week

and my heart
gets me on weekends

they never speak to one another

- instead, they give me
the same note to pass
to each other every week

and their notes they
send to one another always
says the same thing:

"This is all your fault"

on Sundays
my heart complains
about how my
head has let me down
in the past

and on Wednesday
my head lists all
of the times my
heart has screwed
things up for me
in the future

they blame each
other for the
state of my life

there's been a lot
of yelling - and crying

so,

lately, I've been
spending a lot of
time with my gut

who serves as my
unofficial therapist

most nights, I sneak out of the
window in my ribcage

and slide down my spine
and collapse on my
gut's plush leather chair
that's always open for me

~ and I just sit sit sit sit
until the sun comes up

last evening,
my gut asked me
if I was having a hard
time being caught
between my heart
and my head

I nodded

I said I didn't know
if I could live with
either of them anymore

"my heart is always sad about
something that happened yesterday
while my head is always worried
about something that may happen tomorrow,"
I lamented

my gut squeezed my hand

"I just can't live with
my mistakes of the past
or my anxiety about the future,"
I sighed

my gut smiled and said:

"in that case,
you should
go stay with your
lungs for a while,"

I was confused
- the look on my face gave it away

"if you are exhausted about
your heart's obsession with
the fixed past and your mind's focus
on the uncertain future

your lungs are the perfect place for you

there is no yesterday in your lungs
there is no tomorrow there either

there is only now
there is only inhale
there is only exhale
there is only this moment

there is only breath

and in that breath
you can rest while your
heart and head work
their relationship out."

this morning,
while my brain
was busy reading
tea leaves

and while my
heart was staring
at old photographs

I packed a little
bag and walked
to the door of
my lungs

before I could even knock
she opened the door
with a smile and as
a gust of air embraced me
she said

"what took you so long?"

These kind of fruits we want from yoga practice. Mindful movement in everyday life. Think how you reach for something on the ground, how you lift something, how you lean forward, how you kneel, how you get up from floor, how you climb the stairs. Think if your body is moving as the best version of it self; the way it was intended to move. All these movements will be the truest expression of practice results.
Like in this situation, where I am preparing my beloved bicycle for a trip to Scotland to live with his mommy (me 😊). During the process I definitely could feel, that my body has learned how to do better and it's starting to happen automatically. Spine knows that it has to stay straight and core is on to help with that. Glutes are on to keep pelvis in neutral, thus avoiding arching lower back. And knees know that they need to soften so my back doesn't round causing to much demand on it. It comes from movement memory. Body remembers!
We can relearn certain movements, we can realign our posture, body can adapt and learn new ways. It requires practice and repetition, but the more we do it, the easier it becomes for our bodies to remember and move in this new way automatically. 🏋️‍♀️🤼‍♀️🤸‍♀️⛹️‍♀️🤾‍♀️🏌️‍♀️🧘‍♀️🏄‍♀️🏊‍♀️🤽‍♀️🚣‍♀️🧗‍♀️🚵‍♀️🤹‍♀️

Oh, so nice. It's not just me then. 🤭😄

30 MINŪŠU JOGAS NODARBĪBA VISĀM DZĪVES SITUĀCIJĀM 😊
***
Nesen redzēju reklāmu ar foršu saukli: "You don't have to be amazing to start, but you have to start to be amazing" / "Tev nav jābūt lieliskai/-am, lai sāktu, bet tev ir jāsāk, lai būtu lieliska/-s" (vārda "lieliska/-s" vietā varam likt arī citus īpašības vārdus - veselīga/-s, labā formā, mierīga/-s...).
"You don't have to be amazing to start, but you have to start to be amazing". Ar kaut ko ir jāsāk. Kaut vai ar mazumiņu. Kaut vai ar nieka 30 minūšu jogas nodarbību. 😉🤭😊
P.s. Šī video tapšana (visi mēģinājumi) pilnīgi noteikti bija mans mācību process. :)

Recently saw a commercial with slogan :”You don't have to be amazing to start, but you have to start to be amazing”. I though it was great! And you can put different words instead of awesome – healthy, fit, calm, peaceful, vegetarian... It's so true. So often we are so scared of failure, that we end up not starting/doing/learning at all. But that's the thing – there is no other way. That's the learning process. At first, you will fall, you will be clumsy, uncomfortable and all the other scary things, but with patience and love (towards yourself mainly), you'll become better, more confident and more skilled. Same with yoga practice. Every class is a learning curve, there will always be something new and something challenging. No class is the same. But how could it? We are not he same as week ago. Our energy changes, our mood, our tiredness. Maybe we are dehydrated, or maybe had too much water, and now can't focus. 🤭 The art is to be at peace with this, to be at peace with learning process, be at peace with not being comfortable. And not be hard on yourself about it. Patience and love, in this particular situation, mainly towards yourself. You don't have to be amazing/fit/strong. to start, but you have to start to be amazing/fit/strong. Start with something. Even with something small. Even with short 30 min yoga class... 😉😊
P.s. Making this video (all attempts) was a proper learning process for me too. 😉🤦

Why to do yoga? I'll rephrase it - why to do any kind of excercise? For me - because I wanna be able to do cartwheels even when I am 50! ☺️🤸 I want to be able to run, jump, walk, climb, sit, twist, untwist 🤭, squat, push, lift, pull, turn, carry, hold and come upside down for as good and as long as I can. And I know it's possible! I just need to stay active. For me it happens to be yoga. ☺️🙏 You choose your own. But do choose. 😉🤸

Stability + Mobility = 💓
We need both. Not only in our bodies - to be able to move freely and to hold and endure, when needed. But as well in our heads. To stand our ground in storms and to be ready and at our sharpest, for when the clouds clear out. Yoga flow is one way, how we can practice this - moving from left to right, up and down, around and upside down. Longer holds mixed with faster pace. We are training our brain to be comfortable with not being comfortable. In hope, that we will take this skill off the mat into our lives. 🤍💛🧡❤️💜

Woop woop! 🥳 Today is the day!💃 Why can't all graduations have fiery one hour long workout?! 🤭🔥🤸 I am so grateful to LYT Yoga for this training. It has been so beneficial not only for me as a yoga teacher, but as a human being in general. 💓 It has taught me that not only because it makes you look better, but most importantly it makes you feel/move/breath/exist/live better. It brings you back to your core, to the neutral position. To your starting point. And from that starting point you can start seeing options for not only better and more efficient movement, but as well for a better and more efficient being. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤸

It's been a year already! Feels like only yesterday my feet were immersed in coral sand, skin brushed by tropic sun, mouth tasting most delicious mangoes and head going trough reprogramming. It was an adventure indeed and a beginning of a beutiful path. To be continued... 🦋
