Did you know our Funeral Homes have our own CuddleCot? ......

Gentle, Continuous Cooling for Pre-Term and Full-Term Babies
The CuddleCot provides continuous, regulated cooling through discreet, flexible, temperature-controlled pads. It is suitable for both pre-term and full-term babies and can be used in any cot, crib, basket, or in a parent’s arms.

Unlike traditional methods such as ice packs or repeated transfers to a mortuary, the CuddleCot keeps baby close to family while maintaining consistent cooling. There is no need to swap pads, change mattresses, or ask parents to return baby to a bassinet for continued cooling.

Uninterrupted Time for Families-
The flexible cooling pad allows parents to hold, cradle, and spend uninterrupted time with their baby without feeling pressure or time constraints. Cooling continues gently and discreetly in the background, supporting meaningful moments, memory making, and final goodbyes.

This approach provides reassurance and peace of mind to families, knowing their baby is being cared for respectfully and safely while remaining close.

We were extremely lucky a family chose us 🙏

People often wonder how a funeral director manages such a unique and emotionally intense profession. The truth is, it’s a mix of practical skill, emotional resilience, and a strong sense of purpose.

At its core, the job is about helping families through one of the hardest moments of their lives. Funeral directors guide people through decisions—arranging services, handling paperwork, coordinating burials or cremations—while trying to ease stress and confusion. That sense of helping others is what many in the profession say keeps them going.

Emotionally, it does take a certain mindset. Funeral directors don’t approach death the same way most people do—they become accustomed to it. Over time, they learn how to separate their personal emotions from their professional role, while still showing empathy. It’s not about being cold; it’s about being steady and supportive when others can’t be.

There’s also a surprising amount of routine. Not every day is dramatic—much of the work involves logistics, paperwork, transportation, and planning. That normalcy helps balance out the heavier moments.

Many also develop coping mechanisms: talking with colleagues, maintaining boundaries between work and home, or focusing on the meaningful impact they have. Helping families find closure or honoring someone’s life can be deeply fulfilling.

So while it’s not a job everyone could do, those who choose it often see it less as something grim and more as a quiet, important service to others.

Let’s settle this. If someone loved gardening, football, or 80s disco… should their send-off match their vibe? Personal touches can make things feel more human. But we’ll let you decide, thoughtful or too far?
