Hello, I'm Ruth. I provide self-worth coaching and past-hurts healing, for spiritually-minded creators, that are ready to heal what holds them back and finally share their gifts with the world.

Having had a lovely little time off social media this year and feeling very lucky to be able to be a 'word of mouth' therapist/coach, I'm back with some luscious offerings for groups for the first time, which I'll be sharing more about shortly.

I've always been about depth of experience (which I still stand by) and the one to one work I do is perfect for this, but right now there is also such a calling for community and connection with like-minded souls, that I'm hopping back onto socials - to be ...social(!) and create and hold space for some beautiful group work as well.

If you recognise yourself as a spiritually minded creator (artistic, business or life) and would like to connect with supportive likeminded people, drop me a DM or like this post and I'll be sure to keep you posted on all the lovely things coming up :)

Remember, self-worth isn't about what you do - it's who you are and you are unique, and very much needed.

'To do' lists can be great but when they are never ending they can cause overwhelm, task hoping, and lack of focus - things that a lot of creative-minded people struggle with.

Clearly deciding what tasks you are NOT going to tackle today can have many benefits:
- It helps prevent your subconscious ruminating on them in the background
- Stops you from trying to spin too many plates at once and dividing your focus
- Gives you permission to put a task 'down' mentally and emotionally for a while
- Helps prioritise with more clarity
- Helps reduce anxiety
- Prevents you getting sucked into related distractions when they pop up.
- Helps you create boundaries with your time
- It feels good

I was reminded of this today when discussing my to-do list with my peer mastermind. I am currently recovering from a throat infection and haven't yet hit the ground of 2022 'running' as a result.

So I'm listening to my body, resting, doing what I can when I can but having reduced my 'to-do list' to a minimum. And my mental 'NOT to do today list', is creating relief, space and clarity.

Try it? See if you find it helpful.

Like many things, it's a subtle shift of perspective but even a small shift can make all the difference when it comes to our wellbeing and focus.

Happy Winter Solstice 21.12.21!

It’s very helpful to mark and honour natures cycles and to remember that we are a part of the world not apart from it.

The shortest day and the longest night were traditionally a time to come together, light candles, share food, reflect on the year and mark the turning point in the sun/moon cycles.

It’s been a tough year and hopefully the light will be returning slowly now not just literally but metaphorically on all levels too ✨

It’s a good time for meditation, reflection, community, rest, journaling.

You can write a list of things you wish to release, and ceremonial burn it to release those things from your life and energy.

Visualising what you’d like to see enter your life with the light is a lovely addition too.

Go with your body if it wants to rest or ‘hibernate’ now. Listen to your needs. It’s a time for going within 💗

Wishing you everything you wish for yourself 🙏🏼

The terms ‘self-worth’ and ‘self-esteem’ are sometimes used interchangeably but have an important albeit subtle distinction.

Self-esteem is how we measure ourself in terms of our achievements, knowledge, our role, how we look, and how capable we feel.

This often includes how we compare ourselves to others and what we feel we have to offer the world that is of value.

You could say that winning an award, feeling competent, receiving a compliment, having a good job, feeling attractive, liked, loved, needed or knowledgeable etc. are all examples of things that might boost our self-esteem.

However, if it is not accompanied by robust and healthy self-worth, then we may find that our sense of well-being is actually quite fragile and subject to the whims of life’s inevitable ups and downs, mistakes, failures and rejections.

This can be especially true for highly sensitive people or anyone that has grown up feeling like they are ‘different’ in any way as this can enhance sensitivity to rejection trauma.

A symptom of this may be excessive people-pleasing, poor boundaries, perfectionism, anxiety, stress and self-doubt, self-criticism and being overly concerned with what others think if you.

Self-worth on the other hand, is the deep knowing that we are valuable and worthy of love, care and respect, independent of external measures, comparisons, actions or achievements.

In the same way that a new born baby is infinitely worthy of love, care, respect and awe, independent of having done anything to ‘achieve’ it.

We are all worthy of the same by merit of our mere existence. And above all things, we are worthy of our OWN love, care and respect.

Mental, emotional, physical, spiritual and creative wellbeing all have their foundations in healthy self-worth.

This is why I love to create tools and experiences that focus on this important element of personal development.

Self-worth is a major contributor to our mental and emotional health.

It is knowing we are intrinsically valuable and worthy of love, care and respect.

If, when growing up, we experience things that appear to challenge that truth - we can develop low self-worth, limiting beliefs and poor boundaries. Which in turn can all contribute to poor mental and emotional health, such as anxiety and depression.

Through my work with many clients over the years, the theme of self-worth comes up again and a again and is a major contributor to recovery, self-confidence and thriving.

So I am re-branding to focus on this very important area. Specialising in working with highly sensitive and creative people who have a particular set of challenges and gifts - which I’ll talk more on soon 💗

In the meantime hello! And welcome to The Self-Worth Sancturary 👋🏼
