❓ Did you know?
Many young people told us they thought physical activity had to be hard — like intense sport or cardio workouts.
They were surprised to learn that everyday things like walking 🚶‍♀️, dancing 💃, or cycling to school also count as physical activity — and that they should be aiming for 60 minutes a day to support their health and wellbeing.

Feeling safe should never be a barrier to getting active.

As the mornings and evenings get darker, safety becomes even more important—especially for women and girls in Hull. That’s why we’re loving the latest from the campaign and their partnership with Strava 💪

Strava’s safety features are designed to give you peace of mind:

🔒 Map visibility controls – choose what you share and what stays private
📍 Beacon feature – let up to 3 trusted contacts track your activity in real time

Whether you're walking, running, or cycling, everyone deserves to feel safe while moving. These features help make that possible.

Over the past few months, we’ve been working together to identify what Hull needs to make Physical activity accessible, enjoyable, and part of everyday life — and we couldn’t have done it without you! 🙌

We’ve listened to residents, partners, and community groups 🗣️ to shape a bold, community-led plan, filled with practical ideas to support everyday movement 🚶‍♀️🚴‍♂️🧘‍♂️

📋 Together, we’ve put forward a strong proposal to Sport England — one that reflects Hull’s energy, creativity, and commitment to helping more people move in ways that work for them 💪

Thank you to everyone who shared their voice and helped shape this journey. You’re helping build a more active Hull — together. ❤️
