🌟Celebrating Success... Engaging in activities🌟

One of our supported individuals has been getting involved in more activities and recently visited the arcades where he played on the games and visited a bowling alley.

Not only did he get involved in bowling, he won!🎳🥇

We love seeing the people we support trying new things and having fun! Trips like this also build confidence, encourage independence and most importantly create happy memories☺️

4 Nights Away🌳

*Ben, from one of our residential homes, spent 4 nights away on a holiday recently and had a great time! He enjoyed taking a walk around the lake in the evenings and feeding the ducks🦆

He also visited a sensory room - a specially designed space that provides a variety of sensory experiences through lights, sounds, textures, and objects.🖐

We had a wonderful evening at the National Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards⭐️

We were incredibly proud and honoured to attend in support of one of our amazing Registered Managers, who was nominated and selected as a finalist – an achievement in itself.

While we didn’t come away with the win, the recognition of her dedication and impact speaks volumes. A huge well done – we’re so proud of how far you got and everything you do every day 💙

At Cedar Health and Wellbeing, we are taking meaningful steps to become more environmental friendly as an organisation and in our services🌏

From reducing electricity and water use, to increasing recycling and promoting reusables, we’re making sustainability part of our every day practice.💡💧♻️

This month is plastic free July.

Plastic pollution is one of the biggest environmental challenges. Single use plastics - like bags, bottles and packaging often end up in landfills or oceans, where they can harm wildlife and ecosystems.

Here are some simple changes we can make to reduce plastic waste:
💧Turn off taps when not in use
🥤Have a reusable water bottle
♻️Recycle properly
🚮Take part in a local litter pick or clean up activity
👍Choose products with minimal, or plastic free packaging

The team at Grey Gables have been upgrading their outside space with some fun, new additions - a trampoline and a basketball hoop!🏀

These new features encourage our supported individuals to take part in activities, movement, outdoor fun and social interaction. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

There are lots of benefits to being active and in the fresh air and we love to see how simple additions like this can bring such joy to those we support☺️

🌟Celebrating Success... Starting A New Activity!

We are extremely proud of *Henry from one of our Supported Living Services as he has begun attending his local leisure centre once a week to go swimming! 🏊

Starting a new activity takes courage, especially when it’s outside your comfort zone so we are very proud of *Henry and the steps he is taking to embrace and enjoy new activities!

We are proud to say in response to the current living crisis, at each of our properties we are initiating a food bank collection.

The residents and staff will create food parcels to be delivered at selected food banks to help alleviate some pressure experienced by families across the North West.

The individuals we support with staff will devise the menu plan and shopping list for each box, budget and buy the items, build the boxes and pack them, and finally deliver the food parcels to the food bank.

The team at Rishton will be starting next week working in association with the Blackburn Foodbank.
