So much information out there these days.
It's hard to tell what is true (even when it sometimes isn't what we want to hear) and what is well-intended but inaccurate.
And the reality is - and I say this as someone who shares information for a living - that, when you're anxious and trying to make the decisions that are right for you, more information doesn't always help.
Especially when things are complex, and changing daily.
Information can help, yes.
But trust is important too.
As is knowing that these are your decisions to make, and you don't need to please anyone else.
Because one thing is true, and has been true for millenia.
On the whole, women's and babies' bodies know what they are doing.
Yes, we sometimes need help, but we most certainly don’t need the level of intervention that exists in maternity care now.
Again, I say that as someone who has been involved in birth and birth-related research for three decades.
We may have lost sight of some of the wisdom, and some of it has been shaken out of us by the advent of routines and tests and technologies, but it's still there.
There might be lots of things that you don't know right now, but your body doesn't need you to know in order to do its thing.
You've got this.
If you do want information, I have a whole website full, and it's free.
You can also see my book which I have written to help you make the decisions that are right for you.
That's at www.sarawickham.com/wrfm
I hope it helps.
