This picture i was sent by my sister is easily 35 years old, once upon a time I'd have said I wished I'd known then what I know now.

Now I just look at it and think great times, the potential ahead we weren't aware of, but what a wonderful youth I had, I'd not change a thing....

BECAUSE....EVERTYHING...that has happened to me up until ANY POINT in my life shaped where I was because of the past events..

Understand this people EVERYTHING happens for you in life not to you, life happens for you, for you to grow, to learn, to adapt, to become what you are or are meant to be and if you're not where you want to be it's because YOU are NOT either learning the lessons or aren't acting in the correct way to make it happen.

I am eternally grateful I learnt and understood this important message once I did, my life changed massively you can't grow looking backwards to what is but you can looking backwards as Steve Jobs said joining the dots.. but do look forward and believing what if but only when that's a positive what if....

WHAT IF IT ALL GOES TO PLAN AND MY DREAMS START TO MATERIALISE....think about it.

The mind is such a powerful tool, unfortunately it works both ways.

When in a positive manner its very productive but in a negative state it can be so destructive.

The trick to this is to try and remember that when it's positive you have to take them thoughts and act on them to get the results but heres where the issues arise when it's a negative attribute, your subconscious mind can't not define between fact and fiction... so when it worrys about something you perceive is likely to happen (anxiety) or what has happened (depression) it tries to act out them aswell and offer an action or solution to either thought.

It's at these times we must do self talk and tell that mind (depression) that is in the past it's done I can do nothing about that, (anxiety) that's future it is only what I perceive will happen there's no guarantee it'll happen (and previous experience will dictate it rarely does come to fruition) I can not do something about that either as I'm only thinking it could happen....

Here's the thing though as clever a tool as the mind is it can not focus on more than one thing at a time, you can't also experience more than one emotion at a time....so go do something to occupy your mind that brings you happiness ie distance yourself from the negative thoughts... go for a walk and keep the mind busy, listen to some of your favourite good memory songs, you'll soon feel better...

You can't be happy and sad at the very same time... May aswell choose happiness 😊
