We’re delighted to receive silver in the Llandudno in Bloom competition this year! 🪻🌷

We think our blooms are looking more beautiful than ever. From bright colours to fresh greenery, we’ve loved keeping our space on Bodhyfryd Road vibrant all year round. We get all of our plants from Bryn Euryn Nurseries in Colwyn Bay and plant them ourselves. a very therapeutic activity!

If you’re passing by, take a moment to enjoy them 🌿🌼 Llandudno Town Council

We would like to wish Scott Owen a very happy Birthday! We wrote him a poem to celebrate:

Five decades served with pride and grace,
A steady hand, a calm embrace.
Through darkest hours, you’d gently guide,
Now rest, retired, with time on your side.

But still the engines call your name,
Each bolt and frame—a sacred game.
A craftsman’s touch, a petrol heart,
You build with soul, a work of art.

Sunlit escapes, far-flung shores,
Cocktails by shimmering foreign doors.
Each holiday, a page well-turned,
For peace and joy, both fully earned.

And oh - those parties! Loud and bright,
A whirlwind of laughter into the night.
With blazers bold and dancing shoes,
You always bring the finest news.

So here’s to you, with heartfelt cheer,
A legend, truly, year by year.
May engines purr and glasses clink
Happy birthday, Scott - now go have a drink! 🍸

"This morning I went along to a coffee morning with a few ladies I’ve grown very close to in recent months. We’ve all got something in common - we’re widows. It’s not a club anyone ever chooses to join, but somehow, it’s become a lifeline.

We laugh (a lot), sometimes we cry, but mostly we just get each other. No one has to explain why ironing a shirt can suddenly knock the wind out of you, or how deciding what to make for tea feels a bit pointless when there’s no one there to ask, “What do you fancy tonight, love?”

We share memories, swap stories, and talk about the little things we miss most; the mundane, the magical, and everything in between. And over coffee and cake, we’ve started building something new. A different kind of life. A new normal.

Grief is strange and quiet and loud and messy but with friends who understand, it becomes a little more bearable. Today was a good day."

If this sounds like something you need, why not join us on Wednesday, 6th August 2025 between 10am and noon at Lounge Colwyn Bay for our next bereavement coffee morning.

Did you know that when we book in an arrangement meeting with you, we schedule 2 hours so you don't feel rushed? Don't just take our word for it, here is a note from someone who we recently worked with.

"I recently had the experience of working with Tristan and Kelly at Tom Owen and Son Funeral Directors during a very difficult time for my family, and I wanted to share something personal about my experience that I feel sets them apart and I think more people should know.

When we first arranged to meet, they told me they allow up to 2 hours for that first conversation. At the time, I wasn't sure why so much time was needed. However, I quickly understood. Planning a funeral isn't something you can rush.

Every family is different, and every story is unique. Some meetings take 45 minutes. Others, like ours, took nearly 3 hours. And never once did we feel pressured to hurry up."

It’s not about who can do it the quickest - it’s about doing it properly, with care and attention. And that’s exactly what we do. We always give our families the time and space to ask questions, talk things through, and honour their relative in the way they deserved.

We were truly touched to receive these kind words:

"A massive thank you from all of us for your care, consideration and true professionalism from your first visit to see us at home, right through to the funeral service.

You made everything straightforward. You kept in touch, replied promptly to my emails and queries, and handled everything above and beyond our expectations.

Nothing was too much.”

Providing compassionate support during difficult times is at the heart of everything we do. We're so grateful to be trusted to help families say goodbye with dignity, care and kindness. 💛

After Tristan’s grandma, Shawna Peters, died in December 2023, something strange happened. Not one, but two butterflies appeared. One fluttered through the Number 25 Bar & Bistro restaurant the evening of her funeral. Another was found on the floor of our home the next day. In the middle of winter.

In our latest blog, we share powerful stories like this - including what happened during Mike Peters’ funeral when a bird flew in and landed on his guitar.

Whether you believe in signs or not, these moments can bring surprising comfort.
💭 Have you ever experienced something similar?

Why does transparency matter in funerals?

As funeral directors, we’re trusted with something incredibly personal: the care of your relatives. That trust should be earned through honesty, compassion and openness.

That’s why we’re proud to publish our prices clearly and openly online. No hidden fees. No surprises. Just the information you need to make informed choices at a difficult time.

Not all funeral businesses do this - and while every family must choose what feels right for them, we believe transparency is a sign of respect.

If a funeral director won’t be upfront about costs, what else might they not be sharing?
You deserve clarity.
You deserve honesty.
You deserve to trust the people you’re handing your relative over to.
