This is the page for the NaviSight Study. We want to establish if we can determine a person

We would like to thank everyone who has volunteered to be a part of the study so far. We are still looking for volunteers! If you have diabetes and would be willing to participate please let us know. You do not have to have eye problems.

It will involve one visit to the city hospital - we will ask you to take a short walk around the area and then take some eye tests and images. This will all take around 2-3 hours to complete

We really do need your opinions to try and inform town planners, architects and people working in sight loss of the potential barriers to walking around our towns and cities.

Do you have diabetes?

We are still looking for volunteers!

Anyone with diabetes over the age of 18 is eligible to participate. You do not have to have eye problems to participate.

The study will involve:
A zoom/phone call to answer a few questionnaires
A visit to the Clinical Research facility in the City Hospital, Belfast and a walk of a small area around Queen’s University.

We really hoping the results from this study can help us understand the potential issues people face when walking around our towns and cities. We also hope it will raise awareness of people with sight loss and how the design of our towns and cities can affect them.

We now have our first few participants recruited and visits started! If you would be willing to help us and have retinitis pigmentosa or diabetes please get in touch.

We are starting to take names of anyone interested in the NaviSight Study.
