Sarah, the hospital Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) is leaving the trust today. We hope this role will be replaced with a new IDVA in due course. However, in the mean time, please continue to enquire about domestic abuse and complete MARAC referrals as necessary. You can speak to the safeguarding team with any concerns and you can refer patients to external services as appropriate. Please search IDVA on the trust intranet for more information on how to do this.

Organisational abuse occurs when individuals receive poor care or are neglected within an institution or care home setting, and it can even occur in a patient’s own home. Organisational abuse can also be the result of poor processes or structures that lead to the neglectful care of a patient in their setting.
