🌑 New Moon, New Language

Last night I went to Inner Seasons: A New Moon Journey of the Cycle at .sanctuary, beautifully led by .wombyoga and it felt so good to simply be guided.

As a yoga teacher, I spend so much time holding space for others, it was a gift to be the one held for a change.

I’ve been navigating peri-menopause and living with PCOS and honestly, my relationship with cycles has often felt confusing, irregular, even absent. This workshop offered a chance to soften that story - to listen, to redefine what cycle means for me now, and to reclaim the language around my body on my own terms.

The evening reminded me that we all move through inner seasons - whether we bleed or not. That rest, renewal, growth and release are present, just in different rhythms.

It’s a monthly gathering that runs for six months, and I’m really excited to see how it unfolds and how this practice might deepen my understanding of self along the way.

Grateful for the space to reconnect, reframe and remember:
✨ my body is valid
✨ my rhythm is my own
✨ my story is still unfolding

OCTOBER: The season of letting go begins.

October invites us to exhale.
To release what’s finished, to soften our grip, and to trust in the quiet work of change.

In yoga philosophy, this is the wisdom of aparigraha - non-grasping. It’s the reminder that clinging to what has passed only makes it harder to see what’s unfolding.

Nature models this so perfectly: leaves fall, not in loss, but in preparation for renewal.

✨Ways to practice this month:

- On the mat: choose slow, grounding sequences - forward folds, child’s pose, gentle twists - shapes that invite introspection and surrender.

- In breathwork: try a longer exhale than inhale (for example, in for 4, out for 6) to calm the nervous system.

In life: notice where you’re holding on - to routines, outcomes, expectations - and explore what might happen if you loosen your grasp, just a little.

As the days grow darker, let your practice guide you home - steady, grounded, and quietly bright.

October exhales in copper light.
the air smells of rain and ripening earth,
mushrooms rise through damp leaves.

and the trees,
the trees in their infinite wisdom
teach us how to let go.

the body begins to turn inward,
like a seed curling beneath frost,
like breath drawing softly home.

movement slows,
and in the quiet,
you can hear the pulse of the earth
steadying itself for rest.

there is beauty in the falling,
grace in the undoing.
to release
is not to lose,
but to make space for what’s next.

🌕 FULL MOON YOGA: October

The October full moon stands bright against the darkening skies, a reminder of change as we move deeper into Autumn. Known in some cultures as the Hunter’s Moon or the Harvest Moon it has long been a guide - illuminating paths and helping us see more clearly.

Our practice this month will draw on those same qualities of guidance and clarity. Together we’ll move slowly, breathe deeply and carve out space to reflect on what we most want to nurture through the season ahead.

This gathering is an invitation to move with the rhythm of Autumn:

🌕 to ground through slow, steady shapes
🌕 to breathe deeply and find balance within
🌕 to reflect on what we’ll carry forward, and what we’ll gently release

📅 Sunday 5th October, 7pm - 8.30pm

🌗 A U T U M N E Q U I N O X

The equinox is a threshold. Day and night share the sky equally and mark a pause in the turning of the seasons. A reminder that balance is not a fixed state, but a moment we return to again and again.

In yoga philosophy, this balance is called samatva - steadiness in the midst of change. It’s not about fixing ourselves in perfect stillness, but learning to stay centred while everything around (and within) us keeps moving.

On the mat for me, it shows up in the flow of practice - in shapes (asana) that shift - in the subtle wobble of balance, in the way I steady myself even as things move. And in the breath, where each inhale rises, each exhale falls, reminding me that balance is found not in holding on, but in moving with change.

Off the mat, life carries its own seasons of change: times of expansion and contraction, energy and rest, clarity and uncertainty. Balance is not holding on tightly to one state, but softening into the flow - trusting that we can return to centre, again and again, no matter how the world around us turns.

September arrives with a shift in the air. The light softens, evenings draw in and the energy begins to turn inward from Summer’s brightness toward Autumn’s steadier rhythm.

It is a season of abundance - a time to root into what sustains you and to honour the fullness of what has already grown. This month lean into practices that cultivate stability and balance:

🍂 Grounding postures - Mountain, Warrior II and Tree to feel rooted and grounded. Check out my September Flow in the previous post.

🌷 Gratitude Practice - Offer thanks for what you’ve grown this year - in your body, your breath, your relationships, your heart. Gratitude can be a grounding anchor during times of transition.

✨ Pranayama - Breath is an also a key companion now. Focus on lengthening your exhale - an embodied reminder of Autumn’s invitation to release, to soften, to create space for what’s next.

Abundance doesn’t always mean more. Sometimes it’s recognising the “enough” already here.

It is a rhythm we return to -
with every breath,
with every season.

🌕 Full Moon Yoga: SEPTEMBER
A gathering for reflection, gratitude & grounding

As Summer draws to a close and the first signs of Autumn begin to appear, September’s Full Moon rises a time long associated with harvest, gathering and giving thanks.

Known in some cultures as the Corn Moon, this moon marked the moment to honour the fruits of the growing season and prepare for the shift into darker days.

This is a full moon that invites us to pause. To take stock. To notice what’s come to fruition, not just in the world around us, but within ourselves.

Join me for a 1.5-hour practice rooted in seasonal reflection and gentle self-inquiry. We’ll move together, breathe deeply and create space for both stillness and insight as we prepare for the inward pull of Autumn.

✨ You can expect:
• Gentle, grounding movement to steady body & mind
• Breath practices to support transition and balance
• Guided meditation
• Deep rest to restore
• A welcoming space to honour the turning of the season

Let this be your pause before the shift — a moment to honour your own inner harvest, and to root yourself gently in the season ahead.

🌾 The quiet richness of A U G U S T

The days are still warm, the light turns golden and the world begins to soften. This is the season of ripening - not rushing. A time of fullness, of tending gently to what’s already growing.

August is linked to the element of earth so is a chance to reconnect to your foundation, stability and inner strength. A way to listen inward and ground yourself amidst the hum of late summer.

Here are a few mindful rituals to weave into your month:

Morning Stillness - Begin the day with five minutes of quiet. Sit with a warm drink. No phone, no list. Just breath and presence. Let the day come to you slowly.

Barefoot Grounding - Walk barefoot outside - in the garden, park or by the sea. Feel the texture of the earth beneath your feet. A small but powerful way to reconnect with the body and the ground beneath you.

Ritual Movement - Choose one yoga pose a day to practice mindfully. It might be Mountain, Tree or Child’s Pose. Stay for a few breaths and notice how it feels - physically, emotionally, energetically.

Practice Doing Less - Say no when you need to. August reminds us that we don’t always need to do more - sometimes we just need to be more present.

august arrives quietly.
not with a burst,
but a slow golden breath.

he fields are full.
heavy-headed grasses,
blackberries darkening in the hedge.

the air hums with late summer.
crickets sing in the warm stillness,
butterflies dance above tangled wildflowers.

this is not the season of striving.
it is the season of ripening,
of small shifts and soft landings.

this month,
Let rest be your rebellion,
and presence your practice.

Still feeling the ripple of connection from WOMB Summer Festival💛

What a beautiful day of gathering, sharing and honouring our cyclical bodies in community. It was a gentle, powerful reminder of how much wisdom lives in our bodies when we take time to listen.

Thank you to everyone who joined me for Elemental Yoga. For exploring the grounding of earth, the flow of water, the warmth of fire, the lightness of air and the stillness of ether. It was wonderful to hold space at the festival - to move, breathe and connect in community.

Huge love to .cic.festival and the brilliant organisers .wombyoga and , speakers and practitioners who made the day so special.
