We’re so happy to celebrate John, our Employee of the Month at Lynfield! 🙌✨

Although John hasn’t been with us for long, he’s quickly become a valued part of the Lynfield family.

Staff describe him as a ray of sunshine and a breath of fresh air always bringing warmth, positivity, and care to everyone around him.

Not only does John go above and beyond in his role as a support worker, but he’s also known for making the best dinners! Well done, John!!! Thank you for all that you do 💜

Lorraine, Jackie, Lou and Maria got to fulfil a lifetime wish by being supported to Euro Disney by staff Aneta & Katie from Wisteria House 🌟✨

The ladies all said that this was a dream come true and thanked the staff for making this happen; the ladies stayed at the Cheyenne Hotel at Disney and enjoyed all the activities and meeting the characters although there was a lot of walking and travelling 🏰 💜

Wisteria House always listens and acts to any requests made by the ladies to ensure that our ladies have enriching experiences and the best support to achieve their goals in life.

Lynfield celebrated World Cerebral Palsy Day 6th October 2025 with an engaging and educational morning 🙌

We began with a presentation on what Cerebral Palsy is, followed by a fun quiz to test our knowledge. We were grateful to have two guest speakers, Emma and Holly, who shared a short video about how Cerebral Palsy affects their lives.

Emma said “you can do anything with a disability, you just might have to find an alternative way of doing a task,” which truly resonated with everyone 💜

The celebration continued with a lively game of bingo, where residents enjoyed winning prizes, and we ended the afternoon with a lovely tea that everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

Floyd our maintenance person has been awarded a £20.00 gift card by our manager Laura, for being our Employee of the Month of September at Wisteria House! 🙌🌟

Floyd is very proactive within his role and nothing is too much trouble for him, he helps with keeping the home safe and presentable and his approach with our residents is also lovely to watch.

Congratulations Floyd and thank you for all that you do to make Wisteria House a lovely place to be!! 💜

On Friday 19th September, Lynfield went on a global adventure with our “All Around The World Day”! 🗺️🌎

We kicked off in Nigeria where Ola and Olushayo shared stories and traditions, plus a taste of delicious Iresi Dendin (fried rice and chicken). Next stop was Pakistan with Muhammad, who treated us to Pakistani bakery biscuits after sharing about his culture and religion.

After a quick dance break, we landed in Romania where Monica and Nicole showed us traditional clothing and jewellery, along with tasty snacks like corn cheese puffs, shortbread with plum jam, and chocolate-filled biscuits. A buffet lunch with music and dancing kept the energy high before we jetted off to England, where Annabelle and Andrew brought a slice of British tradition (and Cornish pasties!).

Portugal was next, with Catia sharing Christmas traditions and treats like salame de chocolate, bolo de iogute and coxinhas de frango. In India, Josemon introduced us to his culture, taught some dance moves, and shared sweet gulab jamun and laddu. Our final stop was Zimbabwe, where Kenedy spoke about life back home, before returning to Nigeria with Olushayo to wrap up the day.

From food passports to dancing, stories to singing, we travelled the world in one day—without ever leaving Lynfield. Huge thanks to all our staff who shared their traditions and treats. Our residents loved every bite, every dance, and every story.

Wisteria House were very fortunate to secure some support for the ladies from Kimya Piper who is a lead cancer educator from Cancer Support Suffolk to come and give a talk and demonstration of the importance of self awareness and checking our bodies! 🙌

All the ladies had the opportunity to 'cop a feel' of what breast tissue may feel like if there are any concerns.

Although this is a very serious subject Kimya kept the presentation fun & appropriate for the ladies and they all said that they will now check themselves more often.

Thank you Kimya for your approach and time given to this area of support! 💜

Annie & Linda were supported to Gunton Hall in Lowestoft for their annual holiday, whilst there we went shopping for new clothes; participated in some on site games and enjoyed the wonderful food & entertainment on offer ☀️🌴

Both Linda and Annie were full of smiles the whole time and have already said that this is where they would like to go again next year, telling the staff at Gunton Hall 'See you next year'.

Linda said that she feels so lucky to have this time away and Annie commented that 'I had a nice time dear!' 😍💜
