Chakra is translated as wheel, and they themselves are energy centres within the body. Think of them as a vortex of activity running up the energetic column of the body containing certain elements of programming.

They aren’t physical entities, meaning they can’t be seen or held, much like thoughts, feelings and ideas. But even though they can’t be seen, they certainly express themselves on the physical plane as well as the mental & emotional.

For example, have you ever had the feeling of butterflies in the belly, a lump in the throat or experienced the intensity of heartbreak? We experience these feelings around the locations of these energy centres.

Kylie is our regular Thursday Sunrise teacher and she also leads Beginner courses for us. She has a very gentle and accessible teaching style and is running her first workshop for Heather Yoga on Easter Bank Holiday Monday!

Ascension and Intention: A Somatic Journey Through The Chakras is for anyone who’s curious about the chakras or has an interest in Yoga Philosophy. Within the workshop we’ll learn the Sanskrit names for each Chakra, the properties they each possess, the elements they associate and also explore certain deities. Together we’ll go through how we can work with these energy centres through asana, intuitive movement, the breath and vibration- through mantra and music.

It’s an opportunity to discover the inner workings of the energy body and how we can bring more balance in our lives.

Join her every week at 7am for a combination of gentle guided movement, pranayama and awareness cultivation to help bring a calm and steady mindset to the start of your day. Kylie’s style is accessible for all levels, with advanced options for those looking for a bit more of a challenge.

On Sunday 6th February I’ll be teaching an Introduction To Animal Flow over at Om Yoga Works in Farsley.
Animal Flow has been described as a mash up of gymnastics, yoga, break dancing and calisthenics. It’s a great way to improve mobility and strength whilst also having a lot of fun!
The session is 5-7pm and costs £20

All vibrations occur from within a great stillness.
Connecting to this stillness and learning to pulsate freely with the flow of life has enabled me to truly come home to myself.
Damn does life hit different now.
Yeah I still get pi**ed off or say things before fully allowing the feeling to settle first, but I am only human and this is a lifelong journey.
You can join me every Sunday at 10.15am at Stem Physiotherapy in Farsley, for a gentle exploration into learning to be with what is. Finding space within the body and mind and learning how to settle into stillness.
The class is split into 2 parts. 1hr of movement followed by 30 minutes of breathwork and meditation. Sessions can be booked individually or together. DM for more information or to book your slot 💗

Or book both for £10 for a deeply nourishing and fully rounded yogic practice.

Our physical practice will move through beginner accessible postures and flow style sequencing to help you build flexibility, mobility and strength whilst also developing a deeper mind and body connection.
The second part of the session will explore the benefits of pranayama (breathing techniques) on the mind and health. We’ll then settle into a meditation practice and will explore different techniques each week so you’re able to find one that works best for you.

11.20-11.50 we settle down for breathwork and meditation
These sessions can be booked separately or both together at a discounted price for a fully rounded yogic practice.

Aha, the end of lockdown is in sight!!
I think we can all agree that live online yoga classes have definitely been useful and probably found their lasting places within teaching. I was unsure at first and I still long to be back in studios and around people in the flesh, but without this platform instructors and studios would have suffered drastically. And I think it’s safe to say that the benefits of yoga and mindfulness was constantly overlooked in the decisions made by the government during the pandemic.
So, until we can all gather together I thought I’d jump on here to remind you of my online offerings that I’ll be continuing even when studios reopen....

Every Sunday I host The Sunday Collective on Zoom at 7pm. This is 90 minutes of gentle stretching and beginner accessible vinyasa, finished with a Yoga Nidra. Each week I make a playlist for us to move to ,to inspire and uplift. These sessions are completely donation based and designed to release tension and restore wellbeing.

Every Monday & Friday morning you can catch me teaching the Rise & Shine flow with Yoga Hero at 7.30-8.15am

I’m also available for private 121 sessions or private groups. I can work with you directly to curate a movement practice that is personalised to your needs and requirements. I also have experience with working with different recreational and sports teams to help improve health, mobility and flexibility.

I hold qualifications in Vinyasa, Yin and training in Yoga Nidra and Mindfulness as well as being a qualified Animal Flow level 1 instructor

Finding comfort within the discomfort that this year has thrown at many of us.
Yoga from home anyone??? I’ve increased my own personal sessions during lockdown 2.0 so here’s a little breakdown on what’s on offer....

The Sunday Collective~
Sunday 7-8.30pm, a deeply nourishing combination of gentle slow paced stretching followed by a yoga Nidra designed to help bring calm, clarity and a goods night rest

Shanti Shack~
Tuesday 10-11.15am, Thursday 7.30-8.45pm, a dynamic vinyasa flow designed to build strength and flexibility

Fusion Flow~
Thursday 5.45-7.15pm, a combination of Animal Flow, mobility drills and learning to isolate and tap into different areas of the body. All rounded up with Yin yoga to help break down fascial adhesions within the body allowing you to tap into locked flexibility and strength

All donation based, All welcome
