This weekend, we delivered an Emergency First Aid at Work course in Lytham! Our attendees gained lifesaving skills, covering:

✅ CPR & AED Use
✅ Choking Management
✅ Dealing with Bleeding & Shock
✅ Recovery Position & Assessing Casualties
✅ Handling Workplace Emergencies

As Bonfire Night approaches, here are some quick tips to keep you and your loved ones safe tomorrow:

🔥 Stand back: Keep a safe distance from fireworks and bonfires.
🔥 Supervise children: Always keep kids at a safe distance and don’t let them handle fireworks.
🔥 Handle sparklers with care: Sparklers can get extremely hot! Hold them at arm’s length, wear gloves, and dispose of them safely in water.
🔥 Avoid loose clothing: Loose clothing can catch fire easily, so bundle up safely.
🔥 Have water nearby: Keep a bucket of water or a hose on hand for emergencies.

Enjoy the night responsibly and make it a safe one for everyone! 🎇

A new month brings fresh opportunities, and October is the perfect time to refocus on looking after yourself—mind, body, and soul. As the leaves change, it’s a reminder that we, too, can embrace transformation and renewal. 🌟

Here are 5 simple ways to care for your mental health this October:

Prioritise Rest 😴
As the days grow shorter, give yourself permission to slow down. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep and embrace moments of stillness throughout your day.

Get Outside 🍁
Fall is full of crisp air and colourful scenery. Spend time in nature, even if it's just a short walk. Nature has been shown to reduce stress and increase happiness!

Set Boundaries 🛑
October can get busy as the holidays approach. Be intentional with your time and energy by saying "no" when needed and making space for what truly matters.

Practice Gratitude 🌻
Each day, take a moment to reflect on what you're thankful for. Whether it’s journaling or a quiet thought, focusing on gratitude can uplift your mood and provide perspective.

We feel so privileged to be able to help parents gain the skills, knowledge and confidence to be able to support their children (and others!) when an emergency occurs 🙏

We are passionate about presenting these serious topics in an informal and engaging way - so you can easily learn and understand the content.

We are always happy to have babies at our baby first aid workshops, too, because sometimes a babysitter just isn't an option - and we don't want anyone to miss out 💜

Self-care isn't selfish; it's essential for maintaining good mental health.

Yet, it's often the first thing we neglect when life gets busy.

Some ways you can practice self-care:

✋ Set Boundaries: Learn to say no to things that drain your energy or overwhelm you.

💧 Nourish Your Body: Eat nutritious meals, stay hydrated, and get enough sleep.

❤️ Do What You Love: Make time for activities that bring you joy and relaxation.
Remember, you deserve care and compassion - especially from yourself.
