We are making excellent progress with the refurbishment of our latest care home at Taverham Grove in Norwich, which will support up to 30 people including those living with dementia when it opens later this year.

To support this home, we're looking for a talented, dedicated and experienced care home manager, with a passion for dementia care.

We had two extra-special VIP visitors to Head Office today. Lawrence and John from Mid Meadows Care Home, our home for adults with Learning Disabilities in Frinton-on-Sea, Essex, came with some of the team from the home who were visiting us for some training.

While they were in Norwich (we spared them from the training! 😂), Lawrence and John also visited Chiswick House where they stayed for lunch. All in all, they had an enjoyable day out and it was a really good reminder to the Head Office team of who we support in our homes every day.

We are delighted to announce that we will be opening a care home in Taverham, near Norwich, supporting up to 30 people living with dementia. The former Eastlands care home will be reopening towards the end of 2025 and will be renamed, reflecting the change in ownership.

This excellent article in the The Telegraph has some really good advice about supporting elderly relatives, including how care homes provide a vital service.

This quote from the article from daughter pictured sums things up beautifully: "The home they opted for, costing at that time £1,000 a week, wasn’t the fanciest, but the care was good. Despite having initially been told she was just going for a fortnight, within a few days, their mum wanted to stay. “She’d been forgetting to eat, not doing the washing up, putting things under the grill and forgetting about them, and messaging my sister at all times of the night. Suddenly, all that stress was gone,”.

Christmas is always a joyful time in our care homes. As always, our staff have supported residents to enjoy the festive season.

We've...
- dressed up for Elf days,
- held craft sessions with residents making decorations,
- taken people to local pantomimes,
- enjoyed lunches at local restaurants,
- enjoyed carols with visits from local choirs,
- made special gingerbread displays,
- held Christmas parties for residents and their loved ones, and done so much more.

But most of all, we've had lots of fun, making this special time of year as joyful and happy for everyone. We'd like to say a huge thank you to all our staff, especially to those who will be working over the festive period.

2025 will be an enormous challenge for everyone in the social care sector and we pledge to continue to provide the highest quality of care to all our residents.

Happy Christmas to all our followers. Thank you all for your support this year.

It's part of a bigger choir event in aid of and is bound to be an amazing event!
