“How can I be authentically myself?” is arguably one of the biggest questions we can ask, and often seems impossible to answer. The masks we wear to conform to expectations, whether from ourselves, our family and peers, or society more widely often become so embedded that we mistake them for who we really are. Today’s New Moon in Scorpio invites us to begin shedding these masks and any obstacles that prevent us from living our truth. In modern astrology, Scorpio is ruled by Pluto, the Lord of the Underworld, and asks us to dive deep and consider how in alignment we really are with our lives. Mercury is currently retrograde in Scorpio and today forms a conjunction with the Sun, providing moments of great insight, meaning this is an optimal time for introspection as well as jotting down any sudden realisations. A good starting point for reflection could be to ask yourself honestly which activities and relationships energise you, and which ones sap your energy.

Mercury retrogrades are times to slow down and review what is and is not working in our lives, rather than hastily marching forwards. Mercury is retrograde until 29 November, and remains in Scorpio until December 11, so this is a fruitful time to mull over what it means to be wholeheartedly yourself. Scorpio concerns itself with death and rebirth, and reminds us that letting go of old masks and ways of thinking can be scary, but it is from this “death” that something new and wonderful can be born. During this time you may find it beneficial to start a practice of freewriting (journalling without stopping for a few pages without overthinking what you are putting down) in order to cut through the layers of your day-to-day thoughts and beliefs. You could also try dream journalling to see if there are any repetitive subconscious themes that are affecting your waking life. Some people may understandably find this astrological energy intense and difficult to deal with, so remember to be kind to yourself and practise self-care. For many (if not most) of us, the journey to living authentically is not an easy one, but the blessings that it brings are some of the greatest to be found.

Last month’s yoga nidra was a full house, so come along to the Earth Tree studio on Wednesday 19 November to find out why! Leanne from Revival Nidra is offering an hour of nourishing yoga nidra and sound from 7.45-8.45pm, perfect for those of us who want to slow down with the rhythm of the seasons.

What is yoga nidra?

Yoga nidra, or “yogic sleep”, is more similar to a guided meditation than posture-based practices such as hatha or vinyasa. During yoga nidra you lie in savasana (co**se pose) or another comfortable position while a facilitator guides you through breathwork, a sankalpa (an intention), a rotation of consciousness around the body (similar to a body-scan meditation) and visualisations. Some yoga nidras, such as Leanne’s, are accompanied by sound. The aim of yoga nidra is to allow your consciousness to enter the liminal state between wakefulness and sleep in order for your body to regulate the nervous system and facilitate physical and emotional healing. The benefits of yoga nidra include reduction in insomnia, stress, anxiety and physical pain as well as enhanced creativity and focus.

What can I expect from yoga nidra with Leanne?

A blissful, seasonally-themed journey into deepest relaxation accompanied by the sounds of koshi chimes and crystal alchemy bowls. Dress in your comfiest clothes and bring an extra blanket and favourite pillow if you like (mats, bolsters, blankets, cushions and eye pillows are provided). This is a cosy autumn treat not to be missed!

If you’re a fan of Carly’s extremely popular Yin/Yang Vinyasa classes we have a real treat for you! 🥰 Carly is offering an hour and a half of creative and revitalising vinyasa flow in her monthly Mandala Flow class on Sunday 16th November at Earth Tree Studio.

What is mandala flow?

Mandala flow is an invigorating but meditative style of yoga which involves repeating a vinyasa flow yoga sequence while turning to face a different direction on the mat with each repetition. This repetition allows you to internalise the sequence and be more focused on your body and breathing rather than following instructions. This is why mandala flows can be referred to as “moving meditations”.

What to expect from Carly’s Mandala Flow class:

A class themed around one of the four elements, beginning with longer-held yin poses and culminating in a dynamic, creative vinyasa flow mandala sequence. The class ends with more yin poses to relax and restore. A beautiful way to tap into your vitality and serenity on a Sunday morning—and it’s also a lot of fun!

Today’s Super Full Moon in Ta**us feels like an astrological warmup to Uranus returning to Ta**us on November 8. Uranus has been in Ta**us since 2018, with a foray into Gemini this year, but it is now retrograde and returning to Ta**us for a final time before moving back into Gemini in April 2026. Innovative and revolutionary Uranus has catalysed change in the Taurean realms of stability, resources and self-worth over the last seven years, and in three days it is returning to wrap up these lessons and allow us to fully integrate them. Today, with the extra-potent supermoon in Ta**us, reflect on all that you have learned in these areas, and whether there is still more work to be done. Does your need for stability hold too much power over you? Are you holding onto relationships or situations which no longer serve you because you are fearful of what will happen or how you will feel if you let them go? Do you have a scarcity or “hoarding” mindset with regards to your material and financial resources? Use the waning moon, which coincides with Uranus’ return to Ta**us, to let go of any unhealthy attachments while reminding yourself that true stability always comes from within.

Use this full moon to assess your relationship to self-worth, which often has a strong interplay with our relationship to stability. Do you look to outside sources to provide you with a sense of worth, such as other people, your job, your role within the family, or your body image? Take some time to journal and reflect on any deeper reasoning behind this—the Sun in Scorpio provides the perfect backdrop to look at the parts of ourselves that normally remain hidden. As part of the process of letting go of outdated attitudes to your sense of worth, you could brainstorm some intentions that help foster self-love as we move towards the New Moon in Scorpio on November 20.

Grounding practices such as meditation, yoga, and spending time in nature can be really helpful during this full moon, as our sense of security could feel shaken. Remember that self-love provides the firmest, most secure foundation of all.

21/10/2025

In what ways do your relationships and interactions with others reflect on your relationship with yourself? This is the question to focus on during today’s New Moon in relationship-centric Libra. The moon in Libra will often draw attention to any personal issues that create conflict in how we relate to others, and as this New Moon sits in opposition to Chiron, the wounded healer, this energy is amplified. Chiron is in fiery Aries, so if you catch yourself feeling prickly, irritable or defensive with others, ask yourself why. You may be simply having a bad day or feeling under the weather, or perhaps the other person has said something which has touched a trigger point in you. For example, if you feel excluded from a conversation in the office, take a moment to reflect on whether that is what is really going on whether you are hyperaware of being left out due to past incidences or concerns about not fitting in. Also remember that other people bring their own issues to the table when interacting with you, and reflect on this before taking the way people act personally.

Venus is currently in Libra, her home sign, so the astrology surrounding working with Libra energy is very supportive. Venus is currently moving out of an opposition from imaginative Neptune, prompting us to reflect on the ways in which we project onto others. Are you seeing the people in your life as they really are, or are you projecting your ideas of how they should or shouldn’t be onto them? Libra is the sign of balance and fairness, and will help you align your views of others with reality.

Self-reflection through meditation, journalling, and shadow work can be helpful during this time, particularly as tomorrow the Sun moves into Scorpio, a sign which encourages us to plough into the deeper or unseen parts of ourselves. Foster a sense of gentle curiosity towards your interactions with those around you—this will allow you to relate to others and yourself from a place of greater love and compassion.
