When you are experiencing personal or professional challenges, or are juggling ongoing pressures, it can sometimes feel as if you are trapped in your situation with little room for manoeuvre. Whilst this can be frustrating and exhausting in the short-term, over time, if left unchecked, it can negatively impact on your wellbeing - affecting your home life, your relationships and your performance at work or in educational settings.
Cothan was created because we passionately believe that it shouldn’t be like this, particularly given that 25% of people in the UK are likely to experience anxiety or depression each year (Mind UK). Whilst we can’t offer treatment for conditions such as these, our mission is to help you negotiate challenges effectively before they become significant problems, and to support you in creating lasting changes in your life that will enable you to move beyond your current circumstances in positive ways. Through professional and accredited coaching (or mentoring for young people), we work with you to explore your situation, enabling you to approach it from a new, more informed perspective. We also support you to develop your own strengths and resources so that you can navigate both current and future challenges more effectively, and help you to clarify and achieve goals that are important to you going forward. Additionally, we offer certified mindfulness skills training to help you manage everyday stressors and find calm and space in your life, regardless of how busy it is. When you use our services, you will also be helping to give something back as your support enables us to offer our mentoring services free of charge to disadvantaged and vulnerable young adults. We also donate 5% of our profits to charities that support these groups.
