Watling Street Primary Care Network A Primary Care Network of Practices within the current CCG area of Milton Keynes. Please note: Our DMs are not monitored.

Watling Street PCN is now made up of one new practice, Watling Street Surgery, with three site locations: Watling Street Practice at Great Holm, Watling Street Practice at Shenley Church End, and Watling Street Practice at Stony Stratford. Together, these three sites look after patients located along the (old) A5/Watling Street corridor. The Great Holm site is in the north of our patch, the Shenley Church End site is in the south, and the Stony Stratford site is to the east of the old A5. Our philosophy is to identify projects and opportunities where working together is better than working as individual sites. We are committed to improving care, outcomes, and access to services for our combined patients.

Are you a UK Veteran?

Did you know your GP record might not include the SNOMED code “Military Veteran” (1300561000000108)?

This code helps the NHS identify veterans so you can access specialist or priority treatment when it’s clinically appropriate, but it isn’t added automatically.

Here’s how to check:
1. Let your GP practice know that you’re a military veteran.
2. Ask them to add the SNOMED code “Military Veteran” (1300561000000108) to your record.
3. Once it’s added, systems like SystmOne will show an ‘MV’ alert, making sure NHS staff are aware of your veteran status.

Why it matters:
Priority access to NHS treatment for conditions related to your service.
Smoother referrals to veteran mental health services such as Op COURAGE.
Helps clinicians understand how your service may affect your health.
Connects you with veteran-specific care pathways and support.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended our very first breast cancer support group session at Elizabeth Gardens on Thursday 13th November. It was wonderful to see six inspiring women come together to connect, share, and support one another.

This group was created for a space to meet others who understand the journey, to talk openly, and to help shape a supportive community within our PCN. We’re excited to see how the group continues to grow with your input.

If you’d like to find out more about our breast cancer support group or are interested in joining, please email anne.beckett1@nhs.net for further information💚
