🎶🎸 Put Your Records On 🎸🎶

One of our ladies grandsons band The Castros released their debut EP on vinyl today and we wanted to make sure she could feel involved and celebrate the release too! With record player at the ready we made sure she could listen along ❤️ Definitely a proud gran moment!

🎸✨ Make Do & Mend with Music! ✨🎨
Our residents have been getting creative with a wonderful Make Do and Mend project — transforming an old, unloved guitar into a stunning piece of wall décor using decoupage!
This wasn’t just any art project — we made it truly special by covering the guitar in images of some of our residents’ all-time favourite artists and bands. From the smooth croon of Frank Sinatra, to the sparkle of Elton John, the timeless hits of The Beatles, the flair of David Bowie, the rock 'n' roll of The Rolling Stones, and the disco magic of ABBA — the guitar is now a tribute to the soundtrack of their lives. 🎶💕

As we worked, the conversation flowed — residents shared memories of dances, concerts, and favourite songs. It was a heartwarming trip down memory lane, full of laughter, nostalgia, and toe-tapping tunes.

Keep an eye out for the finished guitar proudly displayed in our social room — a real labour of love and a celebration of music through the decades! ❤️🎸

🎨🍰🎱 Life’s Never Dull at Gowrie House! 🧁🖼️🍻

Our amazing residents at Gowrie House Care Home have been keeping busy and having an absolute blast lately! 💫
From getting creative with arts & crafts 🎨 to baking up a storm in the kitchen 🍰 (we're still dreaming about those cupcakes 👀), there’s been no shortage of fun and laughter around here!
We’ve also taken a lovely trip down memory lane with some fascinating loan boxes from Kirkcaldy Galleries 🕰️—the stories shared were just priceless. 💬❤️
And of course, what’s better than a bit of friendly competition? Our “Pool & a Pint” sessions have been a big hit! 🎱🍺 Lots of laughs, cheeky banter, and even a few trick shots! 😄
Most importantly, it’s been about enjoying each other’s company, sharing moments, and making memories. 💛
Here’s to more good times, great chats, and even better cakes! 🥂

Unfortunately the bungee jump arranged for Sunday has had to be postponed, but Lorraine and Amy will let u know the new date soon. Thanks to everyone who has sponsored us so far, and there’s now another couple of weeks for anyone who hasn’t to get their name down!❤️❤️

🎨 Creative Moments 🍓🍦🍎

Today our wonderful residents enjoyed a fun and relaxed still life drawing session! ✏️🖼️
They sketched juicy strawberries, delicious ice cream, and colourful fruit baskets — and there were lots of laughs along the way! 😄👏
It was lovely to see everyone getting creative and having such a great time together. Well done to all our brilliant artists! 🎉❤️

🌳☀️✈️Morning Strolls🌳☀️✈️

This morning i had a lovely walk with one of the gentlemen. We strolled around the block together and then took a rest on the bench out front. We chatted about planes, trees, and all the different plants we spotted along the way. Afterward, we went back inside and enjoyed a nice cup of tea. A simple afternoon, but such a special one.

After 27 years of dedication, kindness, and hard work, our wonderful Head Housekeeper Linda is retiring. 💐 From keeping everything spotless to filling our home with her laughter and care, Linda has been a constant pillar in our home!

🦌 Aw Hen , That Must’ve Been Awfy Deer 🦌

After a wee change of plan we took another magical mystery tour today and our group ended up at The Scottish Deer Centre & Wildlife Park Featuring: Muddy Boots! We all had a fantastic morning out in the fresh air and we got to get up close and feed some of the deer (one of our ladies got to meet a wild haggis 😂) we stopped and enjoyed a picnic prepared by our kitchen , great morning for us all 🌅

Plenty of laughs had up at DPCG - Dunnikier Park Community Golf today! Well done to our gents who played amazingly today! A special mention to one of our gents who’s been working on his mobility who took a few shots standing up today! Afterwards drinks and lunch at the club ❤️
