Approximate itinerary:
Introduction to Qigong
Standing flowing movements focusing on improving the flow of our yin and yang energy
Yin Yoga
Experience long held yoga poses designed to open the joints, stimulating both our yin and yang meridians and improve our overall energy flow.
Sound Bath
We finish with rest and relaxation listening to various sounds designed to calm the mind and soothe the nervous system.
We will be focusing on poses/movements which are linked to the 2 meridians (energy pathways) associated with the end of summer: the spleen and stomach meridians, which are part of the Earth element. This is a transitional time of year as we move away from the yang of summer and into the yin of autumn so we will work on grounding and stabilising poses to bring balance to mind and body.
These meridians run along the front of the torso and down the front and inner thigh so expect lots of lovely back bends and hip openers.
The poses are designed to stimulate these particular meridians to improve the flow of our internal energy (chi or prana) which can help us to be healthy, happy and free of pain.
Please bring any props you have at home and ideally bring a cushion or pillow as this will be a useful prop for the session.
Mats are available to borrow at the studio or you can bring your own 😊
