Cranes Wellbeing Qualified Nutritition Coach Kate Jones supports people feeling tired all the time to have more energy This makes life miserable.

When your blood sugar levels are too high you can feel tired, your thinking can be fuzzy and your mood can be low. You can also suffer with pain, in joints, feet and muscles. Weight gain and difficulty losing weight can also accompany this condition

You may have tried diets and found they made you even more miserable and didn't have the desired effect. Managing good blood sugar control is complex

. Of couse what we eat has an impact and we are surrounded with food that is full of sugar - often more than we realise - and many people are not aware of the foods that turn into sugar when we digest them. So knowing how to choose more wisely is key. However there are other things that also impact blood glucose balance, such as stress, sleep and exercise. CRANES is a mnemonic to remind us of all these different factors and is also a method for learning about, improving and managing blood sugar balance. Support will be offered through personalised Nutrition Coaching, recipes and meal plans, videos, our website and courses that will be held online and in person. Our aim is that you will live a happier and healthier life, achieving and maintaining good blood sugar balance.

I also cook a version of this and it's great for eating kale with all its health benefits if you're not too sure about it. I would leave out the honey though. I find the kale's sweetness can then be tasted (better for blood sugar too)

Satay greens!! Another side dish that will blow you away. I have made this hundreds of times at cooking demo’s and had the most hardcore vegetable haters come back for third helpings. Give this one a bash!!

1 large red onion - sliced
2 cloves of garlic - roughly chopped
1 fresh chilli (ideally Thai bird eye) - finely chopped
3-4 handfuls of any leafy greens (cavolo nero and spring greens work best) - shredded
1 teaspoon of honey
2 teaspoons soy sauce
1 heaped tablespoon of peanut butter
Quarter of a teaspoon of Chinese 5 spice
Fresh coriander (optional)
🥦 Saute the onion, garlic and chilli in a little olive oil along with a good pinch of salt, until the onion softens.
🥦 Add the shredded greens and saute until soften and a more vibrant colour.
🥦 Add the honey, soy sauce, peanut butter and 5 spice and mix well.
🥦 Garnish with fresh coriander and serve.
