One of the greatest rewards of my work is hearing from patients who feel reassured and supported.

“Dr Dixit explained everything so clearly and made me feel reassured at every step.” These kind words remind me why I do what I do... to offer not just medical expertise, but compassion and clarity too. Thank you to every patient who takes the time to share their journey.

Many women I see are anxious that irregular periods mean they cannot conceive. The truth is, irregular cycles don’t automatically equal infertility. Stress, lifestyle, PCOS, or hormonal changes are often at play.

If you’re concerned, the best step is a detailed consultation so we can understand what’s happening for you. With the right support, many women go on to conceive naturally.

You may have seen the recent news from Brazil about a baby being born holding a coil (IUD). While it made global headlines, it’s important to remember that this is extremely rare. No form of contraception is 100% effective — but modern coils (IUDs and IUSs) remain some of the most reliable, long-acting and reversible methods available.

The coil works by either releasing copper or a low level of hormone into the womb, preventing pregnancy for 5–10 years, depending on the type. It is safe, discreet, and highly effective with success rates over 99%. Insertion is a simple procedure that takes only a few minutes in the clinic, and once fitted, you don’t have to think about it again day-to-day. Many women choose it for peace of mind, especially if they are not ready for pregnancy right now but don’t want to rely on daily pills or short-term methods.

Contraception is not one-size-fits-all. My role is to guide you through the options from coils to pills, implants and beyond — so that you can make the choice that feels right for your health and lifestyle.

If you’d like to discuss contraception or coil insertions in more detail, I’d be very happy to see you.

Pregnancy and infant loss is a heartbreak no family should face, yet sadly, it is a reality for many. On this awareness day, I want to say: you are not alone, and your grief is valid.

There are no perfect words, but there is space for compassion, understanding, and healing. Please know you have a safe place with me to talk, remember, and seek support at your own pace.

In England, parents who experience a loss before 24 weeks of pregnancy can now apply for an official Pregnancy and Baby Loss Certificate, a deeply meaningful way to acknowledge and honour your baby’s life. If you would like guidance on how to apply or need support through the process, I am here to help.

Each year in the UK, around 22,050 women and people with gynaecological organs are diagnosed with a gynaecological cancer. These include womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval, and vaginal cancers.

Symptoms can vary, but may include:

Unusual vaginal bleeding or discharge, including any bleeding after the menopause

Persistent bloating, feeling full more quickly, or nausea

A persistent itch, lump, or changes to the vulval skin or vagina Unexplained lower back, abdominal, or pelvic pain

If you notice symptoms that are not normal for you, it’s important to get checked by a doctor. According to The Eve Appeal, these cancers affect thousands of lives every year, and early detection saves lives. 💛

24/09/2025

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has published a clear statement on the safety of paracetamol use in pregnancy, stating that there is no confirmed link between taking paracetamol during pregnancy and autism in children. Paracetamol remains the recommended pain relief option for pregnant women when used as directed.

Women must have access to accurate, evidence-based information. We encourage journalists, healthcare professionals, and those who are pregnant or have pregnant partners to read this statement, alongside the NHS guidance on pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility while taking paracetamol for adults.

If you are concerned or have questions about the use of paracetamol during pregnancy, please speak to your pharmacist or maternity team.
