What’s really going on in a semen analysis?
Spoiler: it’s not just a s***m count.

We assess motility, morphology, volume, and sometimes even DNA quality — all to build a full picture of male fertility health.

Whether you’re just starting your journey or planning next steps, this test can give huge insight.

Just because you bleed, doesn’t mean you ovulate.
It’s one of the most common fertility misconceptions – thinking that a regular period = fertility. But the truth? You can have regular cycles without releasing an egg – and without even knowing it.

Conditions like PCOS, thyroid issues, stress, or low ovarian reserve can all impact ovulation, even if everything seems normal.

So if something feels off, or you’ve been trying for a while – don’t guess. Get checked.
Knowledge is power when it comes to your fertility journey

The invisible weight of pregnancy loss is often carried in silence.
It can shake your sense of identity, strain your relationships, and make the world around you feel painfully isolating. These are the things people don’t always see — but so many deeply feel.
You’re not alone. We see you.

IVF shouldn’t feel like a guessing game — and when it does, it’s often due to misinformation.

Let’s set the record straight…

Supplements alone won’t ‘fix’ egg quality, and being under 35 doesn’t mean your fertility is guaranteed. Egg health is complex — influenced by hormones, lifestyle, inflammation, and more.

At Sussex Fertility & Gynaecology, we take the guesswork out of the process by offering personalised support that’s backed by science and compassion.

Swipe through to bust some common myths — and share this with someone who needs to hear it.

Midwives are so much more than birth attendants — they are educators, emotional anchors, clinical experts, and fierce advocates for women’s health and autonomy.

From the first scan to those powerful first cries, midwives stand beside women and birthing people through one of the most vulnerable and transformative journeys of life.

This year’s theme is “Midwives: A Vital Climate Solution” — reminding us that midwives are essential not only in healthcare but in building a more sustainable, equitable world.

Let’s honour every midwife who listens, supports, and empowers. Whether you’re catching babies in a delivery suite, visiting homes, guiding through pregnancy losses, or educating about fertility — your work matters. You matter.

👣 Thank you for being the hands that hold, the voice that soothes, and the presence that protects.

This Sunday marks Bereaved Mother’s Day.

Observed on the first Sunday in May, Bereaved Mother’s Day is a time to remember and honour mothers who have experienced the loss of a child. It’s a meaningful occasion that recognises the depth of their grief and the unique journey of mothers who carry both love and loss in their hearts.

Why this day matters:

Recognising Grief: Mother’s Day can be especially painful for mothers who are grieving. Bereaved Mother’s Day offers a dedicated space to acknowledge their loss and remember their children.

Offering Support: It’s a day to surround bereaved mothers with empathy, understanding, and solidarity from others who know their pain.

Honouring Their Children: Bereaved Mother’s Day provides a moment to reflect and remember — through rituals, acts of remembrance, or simply connecting with others who share this experience.

Building a Compassionate Community: The day encourages open conversations about grief, helping to foster a more understanding and supportive environment for bereaved mothers.

Valuing Every Mother’s Journey: It recognises that motherhood can be deeply joyful and unimaginably painful, and both experiences deserve to be seen and honoured.

Ways Bereaved Mothers Can Spend the Day:

Connect with other bereaved mothers, whether in person or through supportive online communities.

Write a letter or create a memory project to help maintain a bond with your child.

Light a candle to honour your child and all children gone too soon.

Be gentle with your emotions and allow space for reflection and healing.
