It is 4 AM, and I am jolted into waking with a vision from a dream, of a “Listening Angel”, a term I had never heard before (but immediately loved). I knew that it was something important, and I fumbled about looking for my iPad to dictate what I could remember, as well as sketch out its initial flow and impression. But it was so familiar to me, that I felt sure I must have come across it before, but had no idea of where or even when.
Still, this was not an introduction, but a remembering.
This is my process - something calls and I answer. Sometimes the call is faint, like an old radio with a snowy channel not quite tuned in. Other times it is as sharp and clear as a 4K film on a 65 inch television, often as tangible as anything in my waking life, but like a dream that slowly begins to fade from view, .and there is an urgency to get as many details as I can before it completely fades.
And so I did.
After I had finished, I looked it up because I had to know. And of course, she is real, and here is what I found:
“Embracing the pink and golden flames, this beloved angel and the legions in her command are assigned by Alpha and Omega to listen to the prayers, the heart calls, the innermost thoughts of the mankind of earth and to carry their prayers on wings of light to the Almighty. Listening Angel and her legions are holy comforters, friends who listen in time of need and give the wisdom and compassion of their hearts to mankind as they pour out their troubles to these angel visitants. Her flame of compassion is anchored in the Temple of the Sun.
Listening Angels attend to the inner dialogue and the longings of our hearts, minds and souls for peace, for healing, for greater attunement, for love. All prayers are heard. Whether we know it or not, all people yearn for real, living contact with our own souls…and with God. By God’s grace, we have the ears of Listening Angels attuned to our prayers. And through God’s Love we, too, can be Listening Angels…. hearing the longing of evolving souls waiting to be born….waiting for another priceless opportunity to achieve oneness with God.
And her message to us all:
“ I AM indeed your Listening Angel, and I have numberless bands of angels who are listening not only to the prayers but to the many types of expressions of the people of earth: their frustrations, their angers, their self-pity, their feelings of aloneness in a wide, wide world where there is often no real depth and little capacity for intimacy in spiritual matters, in communion with God or even with another heart. And are not these prayers also?”
This work is to remind us daily that no matter how difficult or dark this world seems, we are not alone; and that we are heard. May it serve as a call to our own hearts to be in daily gratitude and giving thanks for this blessing of life, and to be in prayer for the wounded, the lost, the hurting. To hold them up in God’s Grace, and to give us the Love and strength we need to minister to them and this world, in whatever way we are called.
