Are you experiencing low mood? Is this because of a difficult relationship?
For this, NHS Talking Therapies offer Couples Therapy for Depression.

Initially, the therapist will ask questions regarding your relationship and then start to address the behaviours, emotions and thoughts and how these affect the healthy functioning of your relationship.

These sessions can also be helpful to educate your partner about your low mood/depression and learn how to communicate effectively in your relationship.

During these sessions the client and partner need to commit to regular attendance.

If you are interested, please contact us on 0333 200 1893 to book an assessment or you can self-refer online via https://bit.ly/TalkingTherapiesBNSSG

We would like to share that this month is - Sands, the stillbirth & neonatal death charity are the leading stillbirth and neonatal death charity in the UK.

Sands recognise that nothing can take away the grief that parents suffer from, but that ensuring care and support is available can help people come to terms with their loss. Please take a look at their page and website for many helpful resources.

Here at NHS Talking Therapies, we also recognise that nothing can take away the pain and grief under these circumstances. However, we do offer various courses and therapies that could support you in coping, such as our depression courses or Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), a therapy that can be helpful for complicated grief, loss, or bereavement. Overall, we will take the time to understand what you need, offer a supportive service, and help you to
find ways of coping.

From 16-24th June 2025 it is Learning Disability Week.

There are 1.5 million people in the UK with a learning disability.

A learning disability is a “reduced intellectual ability and difficulty with everyday activities e.g., household tasks, socialising or managing money, which affects someone for their whole life.”

There are many different types of learning disability ranging from mild through to profound. Examples of a learning disability include Dyslexia, ADHD and Down’s Syndrome. Associated conditions with a learning disability include Autism and Asperger’s syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and challenging behaviour.

This is an annual campaign where it is made sure that the world hears what life is like living with a learning disability. It is shown how people with a learning disability reconnect with friends and their communities, particularly after facing the end of COVID and its restrictions.

At NHS Talking Therapies, we have created and delivered in house training for clinicians and admin about reasonable adjustments for people with learning disabilities. This is largely informed by the NHS best practice guidance, in addition to creating easy read treatment resources for clinicians to use. We also offer specialist supervision and have regular meetings with the Community Learning Disability Team. This is all to ensure best quality assessment and treatment for those with learning disabilities.

Help us celebrate this week by sharing something about your life. Share your story here with Mencap https://www.mencap.org.uk/LDWeek...

Happy Fathers Day to those of you celebrating.

Father's Day can be a difficult time for some individuals. You may have lost your dad, never known your dad, or had a difficult relationship. You may be a father who has lost your child, or is longing to become a father.

Additionally, we know that fathers are particularly vulnerable to mental health challenges compared to all men, particularly new fathers. This can mean that fathers are more likely to experience depression, anxiety, anger control and substance use challenges.

At NHS Talking Therapies, we offer free support to those affected by the above challenges. We want to work alongside you to understand how you are feeling, to find the right support for you, helping you to find new ways of managing emotions.

If you or someone you know are feeling low or anxious this Father's Day, we can help.

It's

Feeling lonely is something that all of us can experience at any point in our lives, which can have negative impacts on our health and wellbeing.

This week, why not try some of the following simple actions to help others who may be feeling lonely :
-Learning something new, and maybe share or invite someone who has never tried that activity before
-Performing acts of kindness, or getting involved in an official community fundraiser, or doing a kind deed for a neighbour
-Giving a friend or family member a call
-Inviting someone for a walk
-Joining a group or club
-Reaching out to those you haven’t heard from for a cuppa

In turn, reaching out to others may help you to feel better connected and less lonely too.
